2020 Hajj Pilgrims Medical Examinations will be Carried out

Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced that 2020 hajj pilgrims will undergo medical examinations in early Ordibehesht.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Alireza Rashidian said that “Pertinent Deputy Office will announce a notice concerning initiation of the process for medical examinations of 2020 hajj pilgrims,” in the session of Planning and Cooperation Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization chaired by Representative of Supreme Leader in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.


Representative of Supreme Leader in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs emphasized: “By virtue of the fact that higher than 72 percent of the capacity allocated to convoys has been completed and health conditions of pilgrims have been ascertained in medical examinations, Culture Deputy Office to the Delegation Office should switch on pilgrims’ training courses in the virtual space.”


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab added: “Registrations in some convoys have been completed and the process is being taken in vacant ones. Training process should not be ceased.”  


The session went on with the report presented by Supervisor of Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs Deputy Office to Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Akbar Rezaei on the latest measures undertaken on the upcoming hajj ceremonies.


Mr. Rezaei indicated: “Executive issues, including registration and capacity completion of convoys, nutrition and logistics, transportations, and medical affairs, are being pursued and finalized in pertinent committees.”


In continuation of this meeting, Supervisor of Red Crescent Medical Center to Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Jamaleddin Alvani, MD, and Advisor and Officer in Charge of Medical and Insurance Board to Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Seyed Ali Marashi, MD, presented a report on the planning and actions made for election of medical cadre, activation of Red Crescent centers, formation of medical committees in Tehran and other provinces, and the process for purchase of required equipment and drugs for the upcoming hajj. The underscored that: “Being prepared for different scenarios and ensuring pilgrims’ health are in our foremost priority.”


The report respecting pathology of 2019 hajj accommodation by Supervisor of Hajj, Umrah, and Atabat Aliyat Department General Mr. Morteza Asadzadeh was then presented.


He uttered: “The problems faced in the accommodation of pilgrims in 2019 hajj have been taken into account and generally eliminated in our planning and concluded contracts.”


Emphasizing that health issues are strictly pursued, Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization expressed that: “Ramadan month is approaching and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization is, just like previous accidents like 2019 flood, making attempts to provide assistance to the needy and the vulnerable in coronavirus pandemic using its capacity of 75,000 agents.”
