Facilitating pilgrimage; priority of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization

It was announced at the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization that the approach of facilitating pilgrimage will be the priority of Hajj and Pilgrimage officials in the new period of activity of this organization.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, The latest developments in the areas of Hajj, Umrah and holy shrines in Iraq and Syria were reviewed at the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization which was held under the chairmanship of Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.


Facilitating pilgrimage in the new management period of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization was emphasized at the meeting and new head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Seyyed Sadegh Hosseini stated: the executive branch will try to respond to the maximum demands of the pilgrims by presenting various packages.


Stating that plans have been made for the Nowruz Atabat and dispatching pilgrims who have already done pre-registration for trip to Syria, he said: It is necessary for the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to take appropriate measures, considering the possibility of resuming the pilgrims' land journey to Iraq without visa.


He also mentioned the supervisory role of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in pilgrimage trips abroad and continued: There are currently more than 30 systems in this organization, and the possibility of aggregation, upgrading and deleting items that are possible will be done with the aim of increasing the satisfaction of the pilgrims and facilitating the affairs.


In this meeting, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs stressed the need to observe health procedures to preserve the health of pilgrims on their way to the holy shrine and regarding pilgrimage trip to Syria, he noted that the increase in the number of pilgrimage caravans should not cause neglecting the security of pilgrims.


The meeting was continued with Hajj and Umrah deputy in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Akbar Rezaei and Deputy Head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in Atabat affairs Hojjat al-Islam Sohbatollah Rahmani ‘s report regarding the latest developments in the field of Hajj al-Tamattu’ and Umrah in Saudi Arabia and the measures taken in the field of sending pilgrims to the holy shrine in Iraq and Syria.


Referring to Saudi Arabia's plan to accept foreign Umrah pilgrims during the months of Sha'ban and Ramadan considering to corona pandemic, Mr. Rezaei said: Officials and sources of this country have not yet commented on the upcoming Hajj, but we are ready to send pilgrims to the land of revelation with any capacity.


Referred to the pathology of sending pilgrims to the Atabat-e-Aliyat from about three months ago and identifying the strengths and weaknesses, Mr. Rahmani added: more than 22,000 people were sent to Iraq from eight flight stations during this period, and providing ticket is still one of the challenges facing the Hajj Organization, which requires the support of more and more airlines, especially for Nowruz dispatches.


Cooking and distributing food by the central kitchens in Najaf and Karbala has also been finalized and this possibility has been provided to service companies, he added.


In the continuation of this meeting, chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization emphasized it is useful to hold the High Council of Hajj in order to raise some problems of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and solve them at the high level. Supreme Leader’s representative also called for forming a working group constitute of deputies and managers of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to prepare and compile the issues that should be discussed and decided in this council.


These cases should be macro, comprehensive, and extra-organizational, and prepared for presentation with prioritization, hojjat al-Islam Navvab added.


According to this report, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs at the beginning of the meeting, congratulated the birth of Imam Ali (AS) and pointing out to the position of Hazrat Ali (AS) and the serious responsibility of father, added: following Imam Ali in today's society is necessary.
