Hojjat al-Islam Navvab:
Achievement of Religious Teaching Leads to Solidarity

Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab stated that in moral teachings we witness this issue that affection has a very vast status in Islam and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was a master of affection for all people, hence Islam is a religion of affection and compassion.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab speaking at the 6th webinar of the 36th Unity Conference while honoring the week of unity and the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadegh (AS) said that  basically, the great God has placed the structure of Islam in the social dimension of unity, coordination, integration and solidarity, and all religious teachings whether moral teachings or jurisprudence and ruling teachings are the result and evidence of this approach.

“In the moral teachings, we witness the issue that affection has a very vast status in Islam, and the honorable Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was a master of affection for all people, so Islam is a religion of affection and reducing the grounds of differences,” he added.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab continued in this regard by saying that lies, slander, slander, all of these are grounds for separation and division are forbidden in religion, on the other hand, honesty, humbleness, and affection are grounds for creating affection and affection is part of religious teachings. Therefore, we see that moral issues are unifying and generate solidarity.

The Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs stipulated that regarding jurisprudence and religious issues we see that the highest position of prayers is to be performed in congregation, and we see that when Muslims pray in Prophet Mosque (PBUH), Masjed al-Haram (the Great Mosque of Mecca), or other places, all religious sects participate in congregational prayers at the same time and place in a specific direction, so all these cases are unifying grounds.

He stated that during Hajj rituals, Muslims are all next to each other from the beginning when they enter the Miqat and they are not scattered and become Mohrem at a specific point, and stipulated that all Muslims are present next to each other in the Hajj wearing clothes of the same color. They say that everything is the same, even the direction of turning around the Kaaba is from the same direction, so both ethics and jurisprudence have grounds for creating unity and solidarity in the Islamic world.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab continued that on the other hand, all moral vices are rejected and Islam has forbidden them because these behaviors that create grounds for disagreement are either from the human intention or from the devil. If the reason for the difference is the human intention, it will lead to conflict.

He pointed out that the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said in relation to conflict: "Leave arguing, for a believer does not argue".

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab quoted Imam Ali (AS) as saying that the result of quarreling and conflict is that it creates disunity, and disunity is against solidarity and brotherhood. In fact, depression is a bad disease, and for humans, there is no worse character than this.

He said that argument is one of the things that should be avoided in Hajj because it causes differences and Hajj is a factor of unification, and we should only serve and worship God in Hajj.

The Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs by saying that sometimes there is good quarreling and sometimes there is reprehensible quarreling pointed out that reprehensible quarreling is the one that is in line with carnal interests, and God the Almighty says about good quarrel: “Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good advice, and argue with them in a way that is best.”

At the end, he said that the achievement of the moral and jurisprudential teachings of the religion is to create solidarity and harmony between Muslims of all sects, and those actions that cause hypocrisy and hatred and distance from each other are negative and rejected in religious teachings.
