Head of Iranian pilgrims:
Supreme Leader's Recommendations Should Be Implemented

Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab asked the officials of Hajj and Pilgrimage to implement the recommendations by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei given to the Hajj officials in his meeting with them last month.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, in Monday’s meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader’s Representative Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, which was chaired by Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said that shortening the duration of the Hajj pilgrimage, preparing souvenirs from Iran, avoiding shopping and not increasing the costs of the Hajj journey were considered as one of the recommendations that the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization should think of as a solution to implement the Supreme Leader’s recommendations.


 


He also underscored that the cultural deputy of the Supreme Leader’s Office in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization should also create culture, for more pilgrims to attend Sunni mosques, perform Tavvaf, pray and read the Quran in the land of revelation on behalf of friends and relatives as travel souvenirs, as well as the presence of Iran’s reciters.


 


Qur'an should be recited in places of pilgrimage and gatherings of pilgrims from other countries and promoting Islamic lifestyle and the deputy head for international affairs should plan and act in line with exposing the crimes of the Zionists and dealing with the international dimension of Hajj.


 


Head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Seyed Sadeq Hosseini also said that the organization’s deputy head for Hajj and Ummra has put these recommendations on his agenda and is holding expert meetings with those involved in this field and representatives of related institutions to find suitable solutions.


 


Also speaking in the meeting, Deputy Head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization for Hajj and Ummra Akbar Rezaei briefed the participants on the plans by Saudi Arabia to attract the maximum number of Ummra pilgrims, and said that in the months of Muharram, Safar and the first three weeks of Rabi ul-Awwal, Saudi Arabia has issued permits for 589,000, 648,000 and 432,000 pilgrims, respectively.


 


He pointed out that Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Iraq, Yemen and Jordan are the countries with the highest number of Ummra pilgrims during this period.


 


Also in the meeting, Director General of the Planning, Program and Information Technology Office of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mehran Farshid reported on the features of the comprehensive pilgrimage and pilgrimage systems and the measures taken to respond to the requests for dispatches in the fields of pilgrimage, Syria and Hajj.


 


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab asked the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to provide the access of managers and related officials to the comprehensive system of Atabat so that its information can be used in order to optimize activities and provide better services to pilgrims.


 


This meeting ended with the presentation of a report by Deputy Director of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Hojjat al-Islam Sohbatullah Rahmani about the follow-up for the resumption of sending pilgrimage caravans to Syria.
