Sierra Leone's positive view on Iran's progress in the Hajj and pilgrimage

Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs stated in a meeting with Sierra Leonean ambassador to our country that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to offer its experiences in this field to Sierra Leone and other Islamic countries.

According to the Hajj Information base, Sierra Leone’s ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Salamo Koruma met and talked with Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab at the Supreme Leader Delegation Office.


Referring to the ties and long-standing history of relations between the two countries, head of theIranian pilgrims called at the meeting the relations between two sides growing after the Islamic Revolution victory, and expressed hope that these relations will expand better in the future than in the past.


Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer its experiences in the field of Hajj and pilgrimage to Sierra Leone, and this will help to improve and enhance Hajj activities and programs, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs added.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also positively assessed the opportunities for further communication in the field of Hajj through face-to-face and webinar meetings between the two countries’ officials.


Pointing out that Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute has published about two thousand books in this field, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs said: regarding cultural programs, some plans can be made to use the capabilities of this research institute in Qom and train servants through the training center.


He considered Hajj a valuable opportunity to meet and discuss with officials and Muslims from Islamic countries, and recalled the sorrow and grief of the Islamic Ummah and freedom-loving people around the world regarding the disregard for the rights of the Palestinians and their right to dominate their land, and the merciless killing of the children of the Palestinian nation.


Islamic countries are expected to defend the rights of Palestinians against the child-killing regime of Israel and the United States, and Sierra Leone can play a role in this regard, given its position in international institutions, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs emphasized.


In the continuation of the meeting, Sierra Leonean ambassador to Tehran described the Islamic Republic of Iran's responsibility towards the Islamic nation as important and said: what is happening in the Middle East is due to the lack of unity among Islamic countries.


Referring to the role of western media in distorting reality, he said: "Islamic countries must stand together against the western media empire and be united.


Stating that Sierra Leone is a non-permanent member of the Security Council, Mr. Salamo Koruma stated: our goal is to establish peace and security in the world, which we believe will not be achieved without justice.


Pointing out that his country seeks effective relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields, Sierra Leonean’s ambassador to Tehran added: Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam and a way to Muslims unity, and he will pursue the strengthening and development of relations between two countries in this area through the Sierra Leone Hajj Committee.


Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs called the deputy of Supreme Leader Mission in International Affairs, on the first step to facilitate communication between two countries hajj officials through a webinar.


Islamic Republic of Iran has a special view on the Islamic Ummah, and this view is commendable compared to the countries that do not want unity among Muslims, Sierra Leonean ambassador to Tehran added.


At the meeting, which was also attended by the International deputy Supreme Leader's Mission and also cultural counselor of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Tehran, Hojj al-lslam Mansour Mirahmadi stated: The two countries can have joint programs in the field of Hajj and there is a readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of cultural programs and scientific communications.
