Hojjat al-Islam Navvab: Arbaeen Is One of Movements of Era of Revelation
A meeting to celebrate the benefactors of the school and mosque builders and the leaders of the Arbaeen procession of Imam Hussein (AS) was held in Mecca, under the leadership of the Supreme Leader and in the presence of Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, the representative of the Supreme Leader in Hajj and pilgrimage affairs and the head of Iranian pilgrims.
According to Hajj Information Base, after hearing the views of those present in this meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab described Arbaeen as one of the "movements of the era of revelation" in a speech emphasizing that talking about Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (AS) during the Hajj season itself shows the comprehensiveness and greatness of the work of Imam Hussein (AS).
He said: The fact that so many hearts, despite all the hardships, in the cold and in the heat, are more in love with and eager to visit Imam Hussein (AS) every year is a sign of the unearthly and extraordinary nature of this issue; as if God Almighty has willed to transfer new strength and energy to human society.
He also pointed out that Imam Hussein (AS) reached Karbala without completing the Hajj due to the conditions at that time, and emphasized: Arbaeen is related to the Hajj, and according to authentic narrations, it itself has the reward of an accepted Hajj, and the servants of the Arbaeen pilgrims should appreciate this opportunity to serve them.
In response to a question from some attendees who wanted to increase the number of servants due to the high workload of the servants of the pilgrims of the Holy House and the Prophet's Mosque (PBUH), the head of Iranian pilgrims said: The policy of reducing the number of servants is to provide more capacity for sending pilgrims; some of whom may have been waiting for 30 years to be able to attend the Hajj Tamattu.
He added: "If we want to add an executive force to each caravan, a total of about 600 new people or more will have to join the pilgrims, and if we consider the waiting time until the end of pre-registration as 14 years, this means that the Hajj of 600 people will be delayed by at least one year and they will travel to the Land of Revelation at a higher cost. Therefore, although this reduction in forces - provided that there is no reduction in quality - will increase the work of the servants, on the other hand, it will prevent many of our dear people who are waiting in line for Hajj Tamattu from being deprived of this great achievement."
The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, emphasizing that the policy of "reducing executive forces" over the past years has been accompanied by the important principle of "progress in service delivery", said: "With the initiatives and measures that have been taken, efforts have always been made to improve the service delivery situation; for example, last year on Eid al-Adha, a total of 1,300 pilgrims died, more than 600 of whom belonged to the same country." Iran accounts for one twentieth of the pilgrims to the Holy House of Allah, so if the deaths were to occur in proportion to the number of pilgrims from each country, more than 60 Iranian pilgrims would have died, but thank God this did not happen and the number of deaths was one tenth of this amount, which of course is also a saddening number.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab emphasized that Iranian servants have shown that the number of executive agents is not directly related to the health of pilgrims; because it is the high motivation of our country's servants that causes them to provide the best services they can under any circumstances and to honor the pilgrims.
