"Justice" is the Marrow of Equity

Expressing that the Almighty God admires equity, Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs clarifies that: “Justice is the Marrow of Equity.”

As reported by Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab spoke of significance of equity today in a session recommending staff of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and Supreme Leader Delegation Office for divine right. He considered personal capabilities, identification of time and place expediencies, prevention from undue love and hatred, and standing on improper ceremonies to be prerequisites of a fair judgment.

Stating that the Supreme Leader underscored injection of hope to people in his latest session with his provincial representatives, Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs proclaimed that the Supreme Leader declared: “Try not to paint a black picture of the tasks which are undertaken in the country. Try to make public the good things and attempts which are being done.”

Stating that there are people who place somebody in a positive light when they befriend him and put him in a bad light when they antagonize him, Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims declared that: “Our Sharia emphasizes on equity: we should portray the projects in their true color, avoiding from painting a white thing in black or a black thing in white.”

Quoting the testament made by the Holy Prophet (pbuh) to Abdollah ibn-Masoud that ‘Treat People with Equity’, Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims added that: “We should be equitable and fair; we should paint something black only as much as it truly is.”

Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab referred to importance of equity in our daily lives, social issues, and especially elections, saying that: “We should give our votes to the fittest person. This will be beyond the purview of equity for us to pay attention to factional affiliations and comradeships in our selections.”

Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims continued that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) said to Abdollah ibn-Masoud afterwards: ‘Be Kind and Well-Wishing to People; if You Are So, then the Almighty God will, on Account of Your Kindness, Have Mercy upon the People who Had Been Doomed to Torture’. Hojjat al-Islam Navvab expressed that: “Those who are equitable and kind to people will provide their people with insurance.” He went on: “The Holy Prophet (pbuh) declares in this hadith that the Almighty God will never perish righteous people by the blow of a tyrannical tomahawk.”

Expressing that Imam Ali (pbuh) also recounted equity as a characteristic of a nobleman, Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims said that: “Imam Khomeini was also a man of equity. He used to give notice on what was not apparently in his favor. His equity resulted in his personality dignity.”

Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs referred to equity-centered narrations by Imam Ali (pbuh), stating that equity stabilizes friendship. “Imam Ali (pbuh),” Hojjat al-Islam Navvab expressed “recommends us to be equitable with our enemies, as well.”

He regarded exaggeration as unfair, expressing that: “The Almighty God likes the men of equity, and justice is the marrow of equity.”

Supreme Leader’s Representative held equity to be a type of judgment, clarifying that: “When we want to be equitable, we are actually judging. We have to pay attention to its significance in our lives and community.”
