Announcement of Reserve Priorities for Completion of Capacity of Tamattu Hajj Convoys

“New priorities will be called on for completion of the capacity allocated to 2020 Tamattu Hajj convoys,” the session of Planning and Cooperation Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced.

As reported by Hajj Information Base, the first session of Planning and Cooperation Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in 2020 was arranged chaired by Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.


Supervisor of Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs Deputy Office to Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Akbar Rezaei presented a report on the process for registration of 2020 hajj pilgrims in this session, announcing that: “Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization has completed actions for conclusion of contracts of housing, nutrition, accommodation, and transportation of pilgrims in accordance to prior planning. Medical examinations are pinned to our agenda, as well.”


Indicating that different scenarios in relation to this year’s hajj have been scrutinized by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization officials, Mr. Akbar Rezaei said: “We have an approximate number of 29,000 vacancies in Shia and Sunni convoys. For this, reserve priorities will be invited to register and choose their convoys on reserve.haj.ir.


Further on, expressing that coronavirus outbreak has stopped dispatch of pilgrims to Iraq- and Syria-based holy shrines, Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Alireza Rashidian said that: “Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization is developing protocols to submit to the other party. We have predicted solutions on 2020 hajj and will make appropriate decisions in case there are changes in conditions of dispatch of pilgrims.”


Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs emphasized: “We should be realistic; we cannot stop all procedures and we should be prepared for different conditions.”


Cultural Deputy Officer to the Supreme Leader Delegation Office Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Hossein Roknoddini presented his report on training pilgrims, referring to the contents developed in this respect.


He emphasized: “We will make use of the capacity of national media, especially radio stations, to present required training programs to pilgrims. In-person training sessions will be arranged in case dispatch of pilgrims is finalized.”


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also emphasized that: “Supreme Leader Delegation Office and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization are perfectly coordinated in this year’s hajj programs. Our officials and agents will proceed executive, cultural, and educational plans with their powerful synergy.”


According to this report, Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs give warm wishes for the new year and auspicious birthday of Imam Mahdi (pbuh) at the outset of the session. He underscored paying attention to the instructions issued by health officials, expressing that “Coronavirus is hoped to die down all over the globe and Islamic nations.”


Uttering that coronavirus outbreak has reinforced spiritual attention by people, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said: “Mid-Sha'ban is a special day. Let’s ask the Almighty God to help out all humankind with resolution of this problem.”
