Planning for Hajj 1400 on the agenda of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization
At the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, the issue of Hajj 1400 put on the agenda and various scenarios were considered due to the experience of gradually launching Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, at this meeting which was chaired by Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab; Hajj and Umrah Deputy for the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Akbar Rezaei, presented a report on the status and process of Hajj 1400 and said: due to the experience of Umrah in Saudi Arabia in the event of corona epidemic and approaching time of the Hajj 1400 negotiations, this issue is on the agenda of the officials and managers of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.
Referring to the closure of Hajj 99, Rezaei added: "according to the order of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization chairman, this organization seeks to study and plan different scenarios regarding the sending of pilgrims to Hajj, and taking into account the announced policies in this regard and then take appropriate actions.
Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Alireza Rashidian, also pointed out the need to follow up on the issue of Hajj 1400 and said: Considering the production of corona vaccine, possibility of pilgrims attending the Hajj al-Tamattu' by observing health protocols has increased; However, until the Hajj negotiations with Saudi government, its quality and quantity are not clear so that it can be planned accordingly.
Management Development and Resources Deputy of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Mohammad Azad, referring to twelve billion Tomans of cost savings and optimization of services, Hajj 1398 stated: with planning and follow-ups, these funds returned to all pilgrims in coordination with Melli Bank.
He added: "between 120 to 160 thousand Tomans were deposited in the bank account of each pilgrim and this amount is reserved for pilgrims in the Melli Bank. In informing the pilgrims, we announced that in the current coronavirus crisis, the honorable pilgrims should refrain from going to banks, because these funds can be withdrawn without going to the bank and there isn't any worry.
According to this report, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage also appreciated the measures to return the surplus funds of Hajj 1398 at this meeting and evaluated it as a very good action and said: fortunately, with the initiative taken during the Hajj, and following careful audits by the Saudi side, this amount was saved from the pilgrims' expenses, which is a very worthy and valuable action.
Cost of Hajj must be accurately informed to the people, by some initiatives and measures taken by Hajj and Pilgrimage some costs was saved and the surplus was deposited in the accounts of all pilgrims based on their payments, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage added.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also referring to the report presented on the planning and actions taken for Hajj 1400, emphasized: different scenarios for dispatch should be predicted and actions should be taken, while preserving the honor and dignity of the pilgrims.
He also condemned the assassination of nuclear scientist martyred Fakhrizadeh and said: "these assassinations will never undermine the will of scientists and the Iranian nation. There are many Fakhrizadeh and Soleimani in the country who will stand up for defense of regime and the Islamic Revolution and will sacrifice their lives for progress of the country.
