Pakistan’s Ambassador in Iran meets with the Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs

The Ambassador of Pakistan in Iran met and discussed with Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, the Ambassador of Pakistan in Iran Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureyshi met at the Supreme Leader Delegation Office with Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab. The two sides discussed cooperation between two countries in the field of pilgrimage and travel of Pakistani pilgrims to holy places in Iran and holy shrines in Iraq.


The meeting was attended by Hajj and Umrah Deputy to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Akbar Rezaei ; Deputy head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in Atabat affairs Hojjat al-Islam Sohbatollah Rahmani  and also chargé d'affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Iran Ali Ansar Zaidi.


Pointing out that convergence and unity of the word was the focus of Prophet of Islam (PBUH) plans for Muslims, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said at the meeting: these are the enemies who will benefit from the division between Islamic countries and so the officials of Islamic countries should follow the plans of the Holy Prophet to strengthen the convergence and unity of the Islamic Ummah.


Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs by stating that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has cooperated well with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various programs of the Islamic world, praised the position of the Prime Minister of Pakistan in opposing the occupiers of Quds and refusing to establish relations with the Zionist regime.


He also welcomed the presence of Pakistani pilgrims in Iran to visit holy places and cross our country to visit holy places in Iraq after the eradication of corona virus; expressed hope that a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Hajj which has sent to Pakistani minister in religious affairs Mr. Noorulhaq Qaderi, to be signed between the officials of the two countries.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also said that it was useful to establish a video relation with the Pakistani minister in religious affairs to discuss the issues of Hajj and Pilgrimage in order to be aware of the two sides’ views (Like Iraq and Turkey, which have already been done). The Pakistani ambassador also said that the Pakistani side also welcomes this video relation.


Pakistan’s ambassador in Iran Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureyshi also referred to the common positions of the two countries regarding the west's actions against Muslims and the fight against Islamophobia, and said: "Iran and Pakistan have a common history, civilization and religion and love the Prophet of Islam (PBUH)."


He praised the support of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the people of Pakistan and Kashmir and added: "before the corona outbreak, about seven hundred thousand Pakistanis were traveled to Iran every year to visit the holy shrines of Iran and now they are waiting for resuming religious travel with the improvement of conditions.


He announced Pakistan's new policy of organizing Pakistani pilgrims to take care of their medical and insurance issues, adding: "we are interested in deepening religious ties between the two countries."


According to the report, Mr. Akbar Rezaei also expressed hope at the meeting that the results of consultations between the two countries officials will facilitate the affairs of pilgrims.


Referring to the services provided to Pakistani pilgrims in Iran, Hojjat al-Islam Sohbatollah Rahmani said: "we are ready to transfer our experiences in providing medical services and insurance for pilgrims."


At the end of the meeting, representative of the Supreme Leader in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, pointing out that about two thousand volumes of books on Hajj, Umrah and Pilgrimage have been published in the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute in Qom, said: the resources of this research institute can be a good source for Islamic countries and could be translated into different languages and used by pilgrims to holy places and holy shrines.
