Great role of pilgrimage in strengthening religious beliefs and beliefs of pilgrims

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab  in the congress of "Pilgrimage, spirituality and ethics based on second phase of the revolution" which was held virtually on Tuesday (Khordad 25), spoke about the role of pilgrimage in strengthening the religious beliefs of pilgrims and said: pilgrimage has many effects, including strengthening the faith and belief of pilgrims and society.

Going to pilgrimage is a choice and until the spiritual desire in human beings is not strengthened, man does not go to pilgrimage and there are few people who go on pilgrimage just for experience.

He considered religious beliefs as a motivation for going to pilgrimage and said: before going on a pilgrimage trip, some arrangement is made that strengthens religious beliefs.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab pointed to the pilgrims' satisfaction after the pilgrimage and said: if we ask the people who have visited the shrine, how you feel? everyone says that they feel positive, which indicates the strengthening of religious beliefs and the heartfelt satisfaction of the pilgrim.

He said that getting ready for pilgrimage strengthens belief and faith and added: Man is prepared to enter the sanctuary of pilgrimage by purifying his body, clothes and being mindful.

The money chosen for the pilgrimage is another important issue. The Infallibles (AS) emphasize that you should perform pilgrimage with pure property, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs added.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also referred to remote and close pilgrimage and said we have two types of pilgrimage: remote pilgrimage and close pilgrimage.

He pointed to the contents of the Ziyara-texts and said: another important issue is the Ziyara-texts, which are a list of honor and loyalty to the infallibles (AS). Generally, the first part of the content of Ziyara-text is a greeting and expression of devotion, the second part is a testimony to status of the innocent. Third part, include expressing commitment to the means of supporting infallibility and being a Shiite, where we establish and express contact with the Infallible Imam. The fourth part is mediating the infallibility and asking for one's wishes.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, stating that pilgrimage with knowledge has many effects, clarified: In a study on the effects of pilgrimage and religion on mental health has shown that pilgrimage to the shrine of Imams and holy places plays an important role in preventing mental health problems.

He added: "Pilgrimage creates hope in the people. Their house is the house of light and the light is light of God, so pilgrimage strengthens the beliefs and religious beliefs of the pilgrim.
