Proposing the formation of a joint Iranian-Iraqi standing committee to support Arbaeen pilgrims
Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, during a meeting with a delegation of Iraqi Moukeb owners who have traveled to Iran, suggested that a joint standing committee be formed to support Iranian and Iraqi pilgrims in Arbaeen.
As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab at a meeting with a delegation of Iraqi Moukeb owners who have traveled to Iran from Karbala said: Today, the phenomenon of the Arbaeen March is known as the largest human community, and the Iraqi brothers and sisters have a very important role in creating this phenomenon.
Head of Iranian pilgrims pointed to the accommodation of more than one million Iranian pilgrims in the Iraqis’ home during Arbaeen and considered it very effective in the unity and solidarity of two nations.
He stressed: "The role of the Iraqi brothers in creating this movement is very big. If it was not welcomed, this great movement would not have been created, as in other pilgrimage programs that we witnessed; they have not been well received.
Noting that the Arbaeen headquarters in Iran has been set up to support the Arbaeen pilgrims, Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs added: Given this important issue, there is a need to form a permanent joint committee between Iranian and Iraqi loved ones in Arbaeen to investigate all issues from months ago and seek to repair its damages. Because every year, with the improvement of the processes, we should witness the better holding of this spiritual ceremony and make these services more pleasant for the pilgrims.
He reminded: "Today, many people are bitter with the closure of Arbaeen." We hope that this year, the ground for the presence of pilgrims in Atabat will be provided and that the pilgrims will visit this land in accordance with the hygienic procedures.
Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Alireza Rashidian said at the meeting : "Love for the Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) has been a unifying factor for all Muslims. Fortunately, in recent years, the Arbaeen March has formed the largest march in the world and represents true Islam."
Stating that the presence of Arbaeen pilgrims has gone beyond Shiites and followers of Ahl al-Bayt and has spread to the community of Abrahamic religions, Christians and Judaism, he added Moukeb owners introduce the true Islam to the whole world during Arbaeen, which is why the work of them is very effective and important.
Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, referring to the outbreak of Corona virus, which has caused a lot of damage to social activities, said: "Unfortunately, for this reason, even the Hajj has been closed in the last two years."
But the Arbaeen procession is still glorious and we hope to see the glorious presence of pilgrims in this spiritual ceremony this year as well, observing the health procedures of other countries. Because Arbaeen has the capacity to create unity between the Islamic Ummah and the believers between the Islamic religions against arrogance, Mr Rashidian said.
At the meeting, also chairman of the Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee Hojjat al-Islam Hamid Ahmadi, governor of Karbala Mr. Mohammad Javad Hossein Mankoushi, a professor at the seminary and the University of Karbala Hojjat al-lslam Seyyed Zia Safi, and a number of Iraqi pilgrims presented their views and opinions on holding Arbaeen big march.
