Smart Hajj project was examined at the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization was held under the chairmanship of Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.


Saudi Smart Hajj project was reviewed at this meeting. The project was a model of smart tourism aimed at improving and increasing oversight and transparency for the services they use.


In this meeting, Director General of Planning, Program, Information Technology and Cyberspace Security Office of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Mehran Farshid and one of the experts of this office reported regarding the Saudi Smart Hajj project, which is pursuing a strategic plan with 2030 vision.


Smart Hajj should be seriously pursued in the two layers of physical and software infrastructure and in the executive, cultural and technological sectors, Mr. Farshid stated.


Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs requested that the Smart Hajj project be reviewed in a working group consisting of deputies, managers and experts of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and Supreme Leader Delegation Office. He also stressed the need to identify the pros and cons and also its challenges, harms and solutions.


Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, referring to the studies carried out on the Smart Hajj project, stated: It is necessary to identify the harms and opportunities of the project in the executive and cultural sectors.


To manage this project, Saudi Arabia must move towards building the capacity to cooperate with Islamic countries, he added.


According to the report, at the beginning of the meeting, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs stressed the need for cooperation and convergence of people and officials from different walks of life to optimize the country's programs and said: As the esteemed president pointed out, the criterion for selecting people is merit.


Referring to the arrival of the year 1443 AH, he said: "Unfortunately, this year we did not have Hajj, Umrah and Atabat, but we hope that with the elimination of corona virus, this closed path will be opened to all pilgrims.
