Commemoration ceremony of the Sacred Defense Week and the anniversary of Mecca and Mina Martyrs

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, at the commemoration ceremony of the Sacred Defense Week and the anniversary of Mecca and Mina martyrs, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab explained the factors of sacred defense fighters' victory in the eight years imposed war.

The ceremony was attended by Sardar Fathollah Jamiri, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps protection and a group of deputies, managers and employees of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the Supreme Leader's Delegation Office.

In honor of the memory of the Fajr creators of Sacred Defense and the martyrs of Mecca and Mina, the head of the Iranian pilgrims said: Sacred Defense Week, which coincides with two important events of the martyrdom of more than seven thousand pilgrims on the 2nd Mehr in the land of Mina and this year coincides with Arbaeen Hosseini, is a reminder of the epic creations of the heroes who followed Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions.

Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs mentioned uprising for God, responsibility, enduring hardships and patience and perseverance as valuable factors in the victories of Islam's warriors in the eight years sacred defense and noted: We must learn from the sacred defense which was uprising for God and apply them in our lives.

He further referred to the slogans of the Islamic Revolution, including justice, rule of law, the establishment of spirituality in society and the implementation of divine commands and orders, and said: the victory of the Islamic Revolution was costly for the enemies of Islam, who wanted to control Iran as before, so they tried to defeat this revolution so that other countries would not follow it as an example.

He added: more than four decades after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, these conspiracies continue with the aim of preventing the growth of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also cited examples of east and west and also reactionary Arab regimes supporting Saddam Hussein in the imposed war against Iran and added: with the bravery of the warriors of Islam, the presence of the people on the scene and the leadership and guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran's founder, Iran thwarted the conspiracies of the enemies and recorded a victory in the sacred defense.

In the end, he emphasized: "The valuable factors that led the holy defense to victory still have the power to lead the world Islamic revolution to victory."

Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps protection also said at the meeting the capture of American forces in Persian Gulf, control of foreign ships in the Iranian territorial waters in the Persian Gulf and sending oil tanker to Lebanon are examples of Islamic Republic of Iran’s authority, which has been achieved thanks to the blood of martyrs and victory in the sacred defense.

He stated: today, if we stand against the United States, it is the result of the heroism of martyrs, the sacred defense and the school of Imam Hussein (AS).

At the end of his speech, Sardar Jamiri emphasized obedience to Velayat-e-Faqih, reliance on Islamic beliefs and people's support for the successes of eight years sacred defense and added the spirit of jihad and martyrdom must be kept alive among the people.
