Iran-Syria emphasis on expanding cooperation between two countries in the field of pilgrimage
During the meeting of Syrian ambassador to Iran with Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the two sides emphasized the expansion of Tehran-Damascus cooperation in the field of pilgrimage.
As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Iran Mr. Shafiq Ali Deub met with Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab and discussed on the two side relations and dispatching Iranian pilgrims to Damascus. The meeting held in the supreme Leader Delegation Office headquarter.
At the meeting which was attended by Supreme Leader Delegation Office's deputy on international affairs Hojjat al-Islam Ali Khayyat and chairman of hajj and pilgrimage organization; Hojjat al-Islam Navvab referring to the good relations between the two countries, mentioned Syria as a friendly country and in harmony with Islamic Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Pointing out that Syria stood against the enemies of its homeland and won, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs said: "The Syrian people by defending the shrine of the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (PBUH)did not allow the deceived to reach these honorable places."
According to this report, in the continuation of this meeting, Mr. Rashidian, referring to the agreements reached with Syrian officials regarding the travel of Iranian pilgrims, called for the follow-up of these agreements for pilgrim caravans.
Referring to the capacities of pilgrimage in establishing interaction and communication between nations, he added: "Pilgrimage, in addition to promoting religious, spiritual and moral values among pilgrims, creates good capacities for pilgrimage countries in the field of economic activities."
According to the report, the Syrian ambassador also welcomed the increase Iranian pilgrims' trips to his country and stressed: All Syrian officials have emphasis on providing all the facilities needed to Iranian pilgrims and solve the difficulties of these trips.
Emphasizing that the enemies are looking for an opportunity to hit the relations between two countries, he added: Tehran-Damascus relations are at a very good level and the people and leaders of the two countries will not allow these relations to be damaged.
He considered the strong and strategic relations and support of the Islamic Republic of Iran and resistance forces as important factors for the Syrian government and people's victory in the fight against terrorism and said: you are a partner in this success that was achieved with the blood of two countries' warriors and martyr Haj Qasem Soleimani's axis.
The Syrian ambassador also stressed the need for greater communication between the elites and scholars of two countries and said: The Syrian people are a nation of loyalty and will never forget those who stood by them in difficult circumstances.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab at the end of the meeting announced the readiness of Hajj and Pilgrimage complex to transfer their experiences to Syria and said: more than 1500 volumes of books have been complied in the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute on various issues and Syria can use this capacity.
