Islamic Iran mourns Prophet of Islam and Imam Hassan (PBUT)
Islamic Iran, especially the holy cities of Mashhad and Qom, today (Sunday), mourn the anniversary of demise of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny), and the anniversary of martyrdom of the 2nd Infallible Imam of Prophet of Islam’s Household, Imam Hassan Mojtaba (Peace be upon him).

The Holy Shrine of the 8th Infallible Successor to Prophet of Islam, Imam Reza (Peace be upon him), in Mashhad, was packed with the Muslim mourners, on Saturday night, who had gathered at this Holy Shrine from different regions of Iran and the world, to hold mourning ceremonies.
Especial mourning ceremonies have been scheduled today in the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (Peace be upon him).

Also, on this sad occasion, the people of the holy city of Qom are clad in black, holding mourning ceremonies, today, throughout mosques and holy sites, including the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA).
Mourners also attend Jamkaran Mosque, holding especial mourning ceremonies in this holy site.
Today (Sunday), 28th of the Islamic month of Safar in 1436 AH, corresponding to December 21, 2014, marks the anniversary of demise of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny), and the anniversary of martyrdom of the 2nd Infallible Imam of Prophet of Islam’s Household, Imam Hassan Mojtaba (Peace be upon him).
