As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, the latest planning and actions of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization for the upcoming Hajj and also conditions announced by Saudi Hajj and Umrah ministry for the reception of pilgrims were reviewed at the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization which was held under the chairmanship of Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.


Noting that after two years hiatus, more than 39,000 people will go to the land of revelation this year, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs asked hajj officials to act intelligently and carefully in the planning and actions for the next upcoming Hajj.


He also said due to the pilgrims’ quota reduction compared to Hajj 98, reducing the personnel in various positions should be considered.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab emphasized on the need to dividing task and more precise oversight by officials to advance programs in the short time left until the Hajj rituals. He also called on cultural deputy of the Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Umrah deputy in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to carry out plans and actions in their area of ​​responsibility with more interaction and coordination.


Pointing out that according to Saudi Arabia announcement, Iran's quota for the next Hajj will be 39,635, Hajj and Umrah deputy in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said: request for additional quota of 5,000 people will be sent to Saudi hajj ministry.


Noting that various Hajj working groups have been activated and are following up assigned tasks, Mr. Akbar Rezaei added: the first flights to the land of revelation will be done in the second half of Khordad and now we are consulting with the Airline of Islamic Republic of Iran ” Homa”.


He asked the applicants to travel the land of revelation, who registered and paid in 1399, pay attention to the announcements of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in the official news sources, so the process of forming caravans and training personnel and pilgrims start as soon as possible.


Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Seyyed Sadegh Hosseini also presented a detailed report on his recent visit to Atabat-Aliyat and his talks with the President, Ministers of Health, Tourism and Interior, Chairman of Supreme Council of Hajj and Umrah and officials of the Holy Shrine in Iraq.


He also considered the atmosphere of these negotiations as positive and in line with the appropriate and desirable services to the pilgrims of both countries.


Mr.Hosseini expressed hope that with the consultations and measures, a memorandum of understanding between the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the Iraqi ministry of tourism and antiquities will be signed and the land border will be opened to Iranian pilgrims.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also asked the hajj and umrah deputy in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to specify the issues that may cause problems in the process of forming Hajj caravans and sending pilgrims as soon as possible and raise those problems at the meeting of Planning and coordination council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and hajj organization for final decision making.


According to the report, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs at the beginning of the meeting referred to the recommendations of Supreme Leader of Revolution during his Ramadan meeting with officials and noted some of the enactments of the high council of hajj and pilgrimage chaired by the President.
