Islamic Republic of Iran readiness to present its experiences in the field of Hajj to Nepal

Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs in a meeting with a number of young scholars and elites of Nepal, referring to the readiness of Hajj and Pilgrimage Complex to present his experiences to Nepal in the Hajj field, said: these experiences have already been made available to some countries, and thank God, good results have been achieved.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, in a meeting with a group of Nepal scholars, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab added: Islamic Republic of Iran has good experiences in the field of Hajj and Nepal can use these experiences.


Head of the Iranian pilgrims at the meeting which was held at the Supreme Leader Delegation Office headquarter, said Hajj program in Iran has always been growing and evolving from the past. He also explained how Iranians performed Hajj before the victory of the Islamic Revolution until today.


With the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage changed as an independent institution and all matters and duties for pilgrims are foreseen and performed, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs stated.


Stating that the number of Iranian pilgrims in previous years was about 85,000 and caravans was constitute of Shiites and Sunnis, he said: any action and services belong to the Shiites is exactly the same for Sunnis brothers, that means all of them seen as the Islamic Republic of Iran citizen and enjoys the services equally.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab stating that in the Islamic Republic of Iran, three groups carry out the Hajj mission; added: the responsibility for the comprehensive management of Hajj and cultural programs rests with the Supreme Leader's Delegation Office. The heavy part of the execution is in charge of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, which includes providing services to pilgrims such as transportation, accommodation, food and supplies, etc. The third section is the medical board that provides significant health and medical services to pilgrims in the cities of Mecca and Medina by using competent doctors.


The pilgrims' food in Saudi Arabia would be cooked in an advanced kitchen according to the taste of the Iranians, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs stated.


He stated: In the days of pilgrimage, in addition to teaching rituals, pilgrims get acquainted with the rituals of Hajj and the life history of the Prophet (PBUH), we also have some rituals in the land of revelation that are considered by pilgrims.


Expressing the differences between the trainings pilgrims in our country and Nepal, he pointed to the existence of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute in Qom and its activities and quoting some Saudi personalities, said: Iranian pilgrimage is reasonable, solid and cohesion.


He emphasized: today, we are proud to announce that we are ready to share our experiences in this field with Islamic countries, including Nepal. We have already provided these experiences to some countries, and thank God, good results have been achieved.


According to the report, Mohammad Zayn al-Abidin, a Nepalese scholar, said at the meeting: before the corona pandemic, Nepal had a quota of 2,500 people to perform Hajj, but this year, after the corona, the quota reached 550, we request one of the Hajj and pilgrimage experts come to Nepal to get fully acquainted with these matters.


Hajj pilgrims in Nepal have their own ceremonies and before going to Hajj, a training course and acquaintance with rituals is held for them, he added.


The Nepalese scholar and writer added: today we are here to establish a constructive relationship between Nepali and Iranian pilgrims, and we call for a good coordination in this regard. We also hope that by the formation of these connections, a missionary from Islamic Iran will travel to Nepal every year and we will be able to benefit from their experiences and presence.


In the continuation of this meeting, Molana Mohammad Bashir al-ddin, the Friday Imam of Gorkha, Nepal, explained about educating pilgrims of this country and stated: a series of trainings and information provide to pilgrims by Hajj Committee of Nepal in one week, but this information and trainings are not comprehensive and sufficient as they should be.


At the end, he said: we are trying to provide complete information to the pilgrims, because most of the work during the Hajj is our responsibility.
