More than half of the Iranian Pilgrims departure from Mecca

It was announced at the meeting of Planning and coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in Mecca that by the end of today, more than half of the Iranian pilgrims, agents and brokers of this year's Hajj will leave Mecca.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, the meeting held today by the chairmanship of Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Head of the Iranian pilgrims; Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.


Head of the Mecca headquarters announced at the meeting of Planning and coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization that by the end of today, more than 70 caravans in the form of 8545 pilgrims have gone to Madinah, and 82 caravans in the form of more than eleven thousand pilgrims have returned to Iran from Jeddah and Medina airports.


Mr. Akbar Rezaei further reported on the reviews regarding the structure of human force providing services to Iranian pilgrims with the aim of reducing the number of expeditionary personnel.


He also considered the use of local forces, using the full capacity of hotel services, more use of medical services of the host country, and reducing the force in units not related to the Hajj and Pilgrimage complex as among the issues that can be take into consideration in future planning.


Comparing the number of personnel sent in Hajj 1998 and this year, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs emphasized that optimization, adaptation and a reduction of at least two percent in the dispatches should be prioritized in the new planning.


He asked the deputy of Hajj and Umrah affairs in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to discuss and examine this issue carefully and quickly in the meetings with the presence of relevant deputies and managers in the Supreme Leader Delegation Office and this organization and a summary of the opinions presented to the planning council meeting for the final decision.


The meeting continued with the report of Mr. Kamran Akbari in charge of transportation in Hajj 1401 about returns of pilgrims to Iran, and deputy of Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center Dr. Taher Daroudi about the services to Iranian pilgrims in the medical field.


Stating that currently 8 patients are hospitalized in the Saudi hospital and 9 patients are being treated in the Iranians hospital in Mecca, Dr. Daroudi added: the medical team is trying to transfer these patients to Iran for further treatment in the coming days.


He also reported on how to equip the new building of Mecca Hospital and said: About 60% of the facilities have been moved and transferring the rest of equipment will be done after returning pilgrims to Iran and providing medical services would be completed.


At the end of this meeting, Supreme's Leader representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs referring to some reports regarding the volume and manner of packing the pilgrims' luggage, asked the relevant authorities facilitate the process of transferring pilgrims' luggage as much as possible by providing proper information, which has been carried out by the airline without any problems so far.
