Pre-registration of over 2.4 million pilgrims for Arbaeen pilgrimage
The pre-registration of applicants of Arbaeen pilgrimage in Samah system has exceeded 2,460,000 by Monday morning.
As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, at the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization under the chairmanship of Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization deputy in Atabat affairs said that the process of preregistration for Arbaeen pilgrimage is still continuing and up to now about 1,800,000 pilgrims have finalized their registration.
Hojjat al-Islam Sohbatollah Rahmani, meantime, reported on the facilities provided in the process of registration of pilgrims in Samah system, by saying that of the total number of pilgrims who have registered in Samah, 1,440,000 have asked for traveling through Mehran border, 538,000 through Shalamcheh, 172,000 through Chazabeh and 70,000 through Khosravi borders while over 86,000 have chosen to travel by airplane.
Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Dr. Seyed Sadegh Hosseini at this meeting pointed to the exit of over 420,000 applicants of Arbaeen pilgrimage till Sunday and recommended the pilgrims to finalize their registration in Samah system and pay for insurance costs in order to be able to receive services from the medical teams in Iraq.
Hojjat al-Islam Rahmani, meantime pointed to the measures and follow-ups for exit of foreign pilgrims, especially Pakistani and Afghan nationals from Iran, and Chairman of Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee also briefed the audience on the services to be provided to the pilgrims in this field.
Hojjat al-Islam Hamid Ahmadi also referred to the coordination and interactions between the Iranian and Iraqi sides, as well as the activities in the information dissemination, cyberspace, and publication of pamphlets and pocket books , as well as holding seminars and webinars, and said that in addition to increasing the number of Moukebs providing cultural services, about 100 teams will be active in children sector and the number of narration groups has also increased as compared to three years ago (2019).
Head of Medical Center of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Dr. Seyyed Ali Marashi referred to launching 7 clinics in Najaf, 7 clinics in Karbala and 15 clinics along Najaf-Karbala route, and said medical services are provided to pilgrims in Kazemain, Seyyed Mohammad and Samara.
“Given the possibility of pilgrims being affected by extreme heat and their affliction with contagious diseases 120 hospital beds has been predicted to be set up in the return way of Karbala to Najaf with the help of Iraqi health officials,” Dr. Marashi added.
Dr. Marashi also pointed to using emergency helicopters of the Iranian Red Crescent Society during this year’s Arbaeen, and said: 50 ambulances and 6 ambulance buses have also been predicted and two big stations have also been allocated in Zorbatieh inside Iraq and Shalamcheh border for providing services o pilgrims who have been affected by extreme heat.
Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and Supervisor of Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab also pointed to the presented reports and asked all sectors to consider the problems of this year’s ceremony in order to render better services to pilgrims in the coming years by removing the same problems.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab described the mission and responsibility of this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage more difficult than the previous years in the wake of hot weather, and stipulated that the number of pilgrims will increase in the coming days, hence it should be tried to overcome the problems sooner in order to avoid problems for pilgrims and also the pilgrims should shorten their visits and services to be provided to more pilgrims.
