Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs:
Arbaeen is Enduring Factor of Hosseini Movement

As reported by Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab during his speech at Wednesday’s meeting of Arbaeen Cultural and Educational Committee which was held for assessing the previous Arbaeen programs and reviewing the recommendations by different workgroups of the committee on the future Arbaeen, he described Arbaeen as divine ritual and called for studying the demerits of the measures taken during 1401 Arbaeen.

The Supreme Leader’s Representative while citing some remarks by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on the status and significance of this faithful movement said that Arbaeen plays enduring role for Hosseini Movement and the Hosseini Movement was immortalized with Arbaeen.

By explaining the enlightening and influential role of Imam Sajjad (AS) and Hazrat Zainab (AS) in the cultural scene of the Ashura movement and Arbaeen Hosseini, he emphasized and pointed out the cultural teachings of this huge popular movement: the lesson of Arbaeen is to keep the truth alive and Testimony against the storm of enemy propaganda.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab further reminded the role of Arbaeen in keeping the movement of Imam Hussain (AS) alive and while referring to the emphasis by the Supreme Leader regarding the solidarity and cohesion of the Islamic world, he said that in none of the religious rituals, the solidarity and cohesion of the divine religions is like Arbaeen.

The head of Iranian pilgrims also said that even in the Hajj rituals which is the peak of solidarity and unity of Muslims, followers of all divine religions are not present, but in Arbaeen, we witness the peak of loving solidarity of Abrahamic religions.

“Some people want to organize the program of Abrahamic religions by following the example of Arbaeen, while Imam Hossein (AS) and the Hosseini love have already gathered the followers of these religions. The Arbaeen rituals are based on love, piety, knowledge, stability and endurance.

Pointing out that Arbaeen has been dynamic, the Supreme Leader’s representative said that Arbaeen Congregation has been able to attract people from all over the world with new programs and deep and effective activities, in such a way that today we are witnessing the example and inspiration of Arbaeen and the formation of walking movements in Arbaeen style.

He called the dynamics of Arbaeen dependent on finding the demerits and said that it is necessary to evaluate the position of Arbaeen in the past and in the future, and all performers and those involved should pay attention to this.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab pointed out that the officials of relevant fields in the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the Supreme Leader’s representative office and those involved in other groups have also dealt with this matter while expressing hope that with the efforts and efforts of all, the shortcomings of the Arbaeen ceremony to be resolved particularly in the cultural field.

In conclusion, the Supreme Leader’s representative appreciated the efforts made in the various committees of the Arbaeen headquarters to provide the opportunity for the presence of Iranian pilgrims in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and said the educational classes provided for Hajj pilgrims in order to familiarize themselves with the religious teachings and rituals and practices of Hajj before going to the Land of Revelation will be held. He called for more attention to the educational programs of Arbaeen pilgrims.

“Holding such training sessions will make the spiritual and spiritual journey of Arbaeen have a greater impact on the pilgrims and they will be able to look deeper,” he added.

Based on this report, in this meeting, which was attended by the executive director of the Arbaeen headquarters and the officials of various Arbaeen working groups and committees, Hojjat al-Islam Hamid Ahmadi, the head of the cultural and educational committee of Arbaeen, pointed out the activities carried out in different departments of this committee during Arbaeen 1401. The purpose of holding this meeting was to evaluate the activities of the past Arbaeen and present new suggestions and ideas for the future Arbaeen.

He asked the attendees to present the 1402 Arbaeen operations plan to the Arbaeen headquarters while discussing and reviewing the approaches and policies considered in the working groups of the cultural and educational committee of Arbaeen, to solve the challenges by providing appropriate solutions and the strengths of the activities in the educational and cultural field as much as possible.
