Second Pen Endeavor Conference Held
The second conference of Pen Endeavor was held in Qom in order to honor the best research works in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage with a speech by Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage and the head of Iranian pilgrims.
According to the Hajj Information Base, the second conference of Pen Endeavor in order to honor the best research works in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage (published in the years 1393 to 1400) with the speech of Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, on December 22 was held in the building of the office of the Supreme Leader's Representative in the Holy City of Qom.
During his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab emphasized conducting research in all religious and Islamic fields, especially in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage, and considered it as valuable and emphasized by the Quran and traditions.
Citing verses from the Holy Quran and narrations from Ahl al-Bayt (AS), Hojjat al-Islam Navvab highlighted the importance of being a student and doing research work and studying the biographies of the past, and considered science and knowledge to be the prerequisites for research, which in narrations, including the will of Imam Ali It has been emphasized to Imam Hassan (AS).
Honoring the days of martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (AS), the head of the Iranian pilgrims referred to her sermon in the Prophet Mosque and emphasized that this sermon was presented in the form of an engineering and research work and in various conditions of time, place, audience and most importantly the content has been observed in it and can be a suitable model for speakers and researchers.
At the end of his speech, the Supreme Leader's representative while praising the participants of the second conference of Pen Conference asked for forgiveness and mercy for the deceased in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage, especially Ayatollah Mohammad Rey-Shahri, the former representative of the Supreme Leader in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs.
According to this report, the key speaker of the conference was Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Ali Qazi Askar, who while expressing his satisfaction to be in the company of his old colleagues and condoling the days of Fatemiyah (AS) emphasized on the continuation of research in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage.
By pointing to the research gaps that exist in all areas, including the field of Hajj and pilgrimage, the guardian of the Holy Shrine, Abdul Azim Hassani (AS), underscored the presentation of new, strong, up-to-date and efficient research and asked the authorities to pay special attention to this matter.
Referring to the work done in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage, Hojjat al-Islam Qazi Askar deemed it necessary to make a precise, calculated and new policy in this field and stated that the policy-making prevents repetitive work.
The necessity of writing in areas that have not been addressed, including some monographs, efforts to translate selected works published in other countries and translations of selected works of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute into other languages, efforts to write the oral history of Hajj and efforts to write novels. As one of the most influential formats, especially among the young generation, were other recommendations of Hojjat al-Islam Qazi Askar.
This report indicates that at the beginning of this conference, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute, while presenting a report on the process of holding this conference, said that the works produced in the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute, with the aim of better competition from others, were not included in this conference; because if Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute participates in this conference, considering the production of 600 works (published in 1393 to 1400), the competition would be difficult for others and most of the selected works were from the same works.
While explaining the steps of holding the second conference of Masaai Qalam, Mirza Alizadeh emphasized that after the publication of the conference call, 287 works, including books, theses and articles, were received by the secretariat, and among these works, 82 books, 48 theses of the 3rd level of the seminary, 32 theses of the 4th level, 27 master's theses, 17 doctoral theses and 81 articles.
The head of Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute added that out of the total of 287 works, 1 work was selected, 5 works worthy of appreciation and 15 works worthy of praise were recognized.
At the end of this conference, which was organized by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute, the selected people of the Second Pen Endeavor Conference were honored at the presence of the Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, the guardian of the holy shrine Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS), the cultural deputy of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office and Head of the Hajj Research Institute. The selected participants of the conference were presented with gifts.
Based on the report, in the second conference of Second Pen Endeavor Conference, Hojjat al-Islam Dargahi, the author of the book Ziarat (pilgrimage) from the perspective of Islamic religions, was recognized as having the highest rank. Also, five works with the titles: the places of worship of heavenly religions in the Qur'an and hadith (book), the demerits of pilgrimage with a focus on Razavi pilgrimage (book), criticism and review of the positions and problems of Sunni scholars and thinkers regarding the hadiths of the twelve caliphs (thesis), analytical and document review of brokering of Imam Hadi's Ghadiriya pilgrimage with an emphasis on the issue of Imamate (thesis) Strategies to confront the hazards of takfiri currents for security of the Islamic World (thesis) with the title worthy of appreciation and 15 works as worthy of praise were selected and gifts were given to their authors.
