Head of Iranian Pilgrims Emphasized Need to Deal with Comprehensive Definition of Pilgrimage in Compiling National Pilgrimage Document
Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab while addressing members of the Committee of Representatives of the Holy and Blessed Places of Islamic Iran emphasized that it is necessary to deal with a comprehensive definition of Pilgrimage in compiling and writing the National Document of Pilgrimage.
According to the Hajj information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab who was speaking at the 38th meeting of the Committee of Representatives of the Holy Thresholds and Blessed Places of Islamic Iran in the Assembly Hall of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office, also suggested that a common and comprehensive document for Hajj and pilgrimage to be prepared.
Head of Iranian Pilgrims described the drafting of the National Pilgrimage Document as a suitable and necessary measure, and said, “It is better to consider pilgrimage in a general sense, six of the 14 Massoumin can be visited in Medina.”
He also mentioned the need to pay attention to the requirements, titles and concepts in the writing of the national pilgrimage document, and by expressing the positive effects of the coexistence of "Hajj and pilgrimage" added that Hajj, which is considered as one of the pillars of religion, is also a pilgrimage. If two documents are prepared for Hajj and pilgrimage, in some cases they will overlap and in some cases they will be separate from each other, if this category can be dealt with in another way and a comprehensive document with an appropriate interpretation and title for this worship program can be compiled.
The Supreme Leader’s representative said that today the world pays more attention to the issue of pilgrimage, adding that in addition to the Hosseini Arbaeen ceremony, there are more than 30 other rallies in the world, some of which involve about a thousand kilometers of walking. It is possible, but the spirit and truth of this ceremony, which is to respect the personality of a complete human being, cannot be seen in any of those walks.
He mentioned the effects of materialism in the society and stated that people's souls are tired of the noise in today's world.
He said that people are looking for a place where they can focus and find a spiritual connection with their God or respected followers away from these controversies.
In another part of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab explained the importance of the Supreme Leader’s representative office in the four pillars of Hajj, Umrah, shrines of the Iraqi Highnesses and places of pilgrimage in Syria.
He said that in the 1980s and 2010s due to the bloody Hajj, the tragedy of Mena and the spread of coronavirus pandemic which closed Hajj for three years, but in Hajj 1402, more than 87,000 pilgrims and servants will visit the land of revelation.
The head of Iranian pilgrims added that using the opportunity of the closure of Hajj during the outbreak of the coronavirus and with the efforts of the officials and those involved, the processes were modified and the book of Hajj and pilgrimage processes was compiled with the aim of speeding up the programs in this area and reducing problems.
He said that one of the measures in the upcoming Hajj is to reduce the number of sent servants and increase in the number of pilgrims by hundreds.
“In addition to the fact that more than one million people are waiting for Tashraf, other people have become eligible since 1386 and are interested in visiting the land of revelation.
The Supreme Leader’s representative said that today's conditions and pilgrims are different from the past, and their expectations are higher from clerics and servants of other departments, so the plans should also be considered according to the needs of the pilgrims for the caravans.
He pointed out that the cost of Hajj in 1402 was reduced from around 150 million tomans to a minimum of 109 and a maximum of 139 million tomans with the efforts and measures taken, and said that for the first time after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the upcoming Hajj is for peace. Most of the pilgrims have started couple caravans, and if this experience is met with success and welcome, the number of these caravans will increase in the coming years.
