Hojjat al-Islam Navvab Stresses Need to Dispatch Young, Talented Seminary Students in Pilgrimage Caravans

Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab emphasized the need to dispatch efficient and young clerics and seminary students in pilgrimage caravans.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab pointed to dispatch of talented and efficient young clerics in the field of Hajj and Pilgrimage as one of the priorities of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, and emphasized that at the same time it will be tried to benefit from veterans, clerics and young students to accompany caravans of pilgrims as clergymen on pilgrimages.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, who spoke at the gathering of the officials and experts of the representative offices of the supreme leader's representative office in the provinces and regions in Qom, recalled the need to use the experiences of the veterans of this area along with the young students.

He added that the age limit of the caravan clergy Hajj is 65 years old, and considering all aspects, this ceiling will not be increased, because the path must be opened for the entry of young clerics.

Referring to the possibility of restarting the Umrah journey after the upcoming Hajj ceremony, he pointed out that given the fact that about 7 years have passed since the closure of the Umrah, the clerics have distanced themselves from the atmosphere of promoting this spiritual journey, therefore, the Cultural Deputy of the Supreme Leader's Mission should take appropriate measures to invite Umrah clerics who have the necessary scientific and physical preparation.

The Head of Iranian Pilgrims recalled the Supreme Leader of the Revolution's advice on reducing the duration of Iranian pilgrims' journey to the Land of Revelation and stated that considering that "we are facing a shortage of hotels in Medina due to the destructions that have taken place, and the Hajj flights are also limited. It has caused the return of pilgrims, it is not possible to reduce the travel time this year, but in coordination with the relevant agencies and planning, we hope to be able to realize this opinion of the supreme leader of the revolution in the coming years.

The representative of the Supreme Leader in matters of Hajj and Pilgrimage assessed the conditions of the Hajj administration in 1402 as different from the previous years and reminded that in the past, it was easy to provide hotels, transfer currency and move pilgrims, but today, with the crippling sanctions of arrogance, meeting the needs of Hajj operations are difficult.

He, meantime, said of course, these problems will be solved with the cooperation of respected officials of the Nizam and other stakeholders, and God willing, we will not have any problems for the implementation of Hajj pilgrims in 1402.

He advised the trustees of Hajj to use this opportunity to serve the pilgrims of Hajj more than before, because maybe tomorrow this responsibility will be taken away from them and they will not be able to achieve such a success.

At the end of this meeting, the representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran made an explanation regarding the questions raised by the officials and experts of the representative offices of the mission in the regions and provinces across the country.
