Director General of Hajj and Umrah Nutrition and Supplies said: more popular foods are included in the Hajj meal plan to satisfy pilgrims from different provinces of the country.

As reported by hajj information base, Answering to a question about the food plan of pilgrims in the upcoming Hajj, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Nutrition and Supplies in the Hajj and Pilgrimage organization ,Morteza Aghaei said to the reporter of Hajj Information Center that this year's food plan will be different from the previous years and the foods that are more popular in the county's culture  (such as Qorme Sabzi and Kobideh) will be cooked.


Pointing out that the food plan for Hajj 1402 has been prepared based on the pathologies of previous years, Mr. Aghaei added: to prepare this year's Hajj food plan, traditional doctors and colleagues in the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Board have also been consulted."


Regarding the breakfast, he also explained that this meal is an "open list" and pilgrims can choose their breakfast as they wish.


According to the General Director of Hajj and Umrah Nutrition and supplies, in addition to lunch and dinner, during the week, three and a half meals (every other day) hot breakfast will be cooked for the pilgrims.


Aghaei also said about the food of pilgrims who have special diseases: cooking diet food is planned for these people, and each meal will be included 5% diet food (according to the needs and requests of pilgrims).


The caravan managers can determine the number of diet meals for each day by asking the pilgrims. Some days, the amount of diet food is more than 5% and on some days it may be less than 5%, it depends on the changes that the caravan manager informs us through the system, he added.


About the food plan for Tashriq days, Aghaei said: catering during these days is of the camp type, but we will try to ensure that the services during Tashriq days would be the same as hotel services.


All kinds of fruits and desserts have been included in the food plan of the pilgrims so that necessary services can be provided in this field, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Nutrition and Supplies also said about snacks.


Pilgrims will be informed this year meal plan through the software that will be activated during the Hajj season, Aghaei added.


The food plan will be stand in front of the restaurant entrance in hotel, he also said.


About the bread in the food basket of pilgrims during last year hajj, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Nutrition and Supplies said: we signed a contract with a bread company and all the bread for pilgrims was supplied through that company. Pilgrims' satisfaction with the bread prepared by this company caused the bulk of pilgrims' bread to be purchased from the company this year as well.
