Iran and Türkiye Discuss Hajj Cooperation in Mecca
In a meeting with the head of the Turkish Hajj mission, the Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab referred to the prevailing conditions in the world and the arrogant efforts of the enemies of Islam against the Islamic Ummah, and said that these conditions require that the Islamic world today more than in the past to maintain its integrity and be present in the global arena.
According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab who is in Makkah met and talked with Dr. Ali Arbash, the head of the Türkiye's Hajj mission and the head of the Religious Organization of that country, at the Supreme Leader's Representative Office in Mecca on Wednesday night.
During the meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab considered it a special opportunity to establish communication between the thinkers of the Islamic world in order to devise and plan to identify the needs of the Islamic world.
"The existence of mutual will for the development of relations between the two countries provides the basis for progress and growth of relations," he added.
The head of Iranian pilgrims emphasized the need for more communication between Islamic countries to curb the phenomenon of Islamophobia in a new way, and pointed out that it is necessary for the Islamic world to adopt a common position against this phenomenon.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab recalled the history of cooperation between the two countries in the field of Hajj, and said that the Research Institute of Hajj and Pilgrimage is ready to take action to meet the needs of Muslim countries in the field of Hajj. "Also, every year, a number of prominent and distinguished Iranian reciters attend the Hajj ceremony and are ready to organize Quranic nights in Turkish caravans, which can lead to an increase in the convergence of the two friendly and brotherly countries regarding the pilgrims."
In the continuation of this meeting, the head of the Turkish mission also pointed to the close and continuous cooperation between Iran and Türkiye in various fields, and said that Hajj is an annual worship and congress of Muslims and is the foundation of unity between them.
Ali Arbash called cooperation the need of today's Islamic world, and said: Nothing can show unity and empathy between Muslims better than Hajj. "Hajj leads a person to piety."
He said that considering the importance of Hajj, the least carelessness will cause the most harm, so let's reduce these harms together.
The head of the Turkish delegation considered the interaction between Muslims to fight against Islamophobia as important and the key to it is the unity and togetherness of the Islamic Ummah and said: Iran and Türkiye can benefit from experiences in this field.
Referring to Saudi Arabia's plan to facilitate Hajj, he said that as the big countries of the region, "we should think together" in this field. It is important to make the worships easy because every year the number of pilgrims increases and it is necessary to plan for it.
"Problems and hardships will increase with crowding, so new solutions should be found for the upcoming problems and Hajj plans should be moved forward," he added.
In continuation of this meeting, Seyed Abbas Hosseini, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, also pointed to the experiences of his organization in the field of providing services to pilgrims, and said that the Hajj Organization is ready to cooperate and share experiences between the Hajj organizations of the two countries in order to provide better services to the guests of Rahman.
Hojjat al-Islam Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Religions, also emphasized the need to preserve and stabilize Islamic values in the society and strengthen the extensive connections and commonalities of the two countries, and considered scientific communication between the religious assemblies of the two sides beneficial, which can further promote the values of Islam.
He considered hijab, family and promotion of liberal thinking among the concerns of Islamic societies, and clarified that scholars and intellectuals have the duty to propagate Islamic values in society.
Based on this report, it was emphasized in this meeting that Iran and Türkiye, as two countries whose common axis is monotheism, should move together and make the Qur'an, faith and brotherhood the axis of cooperation.
