Transporting Last Caravans of Iranian pilgrims by Train From Medina to Mecca

In the meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office in Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Affairs and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, it was announced that in order to facilitate the journey of Iranian pilgrims who are scheduled to leave Medina for Mecca on Thursday and Friday night, they will be transported by high-speed train.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced the news at the meeting of the planning and coordination council of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, which was held on Thursday evening (Tir 1) under the chairmanship of Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the head of Iranian pilgrims in Mecca.


"Considering the approaching days of Tashriq and the congestion on the roads leading to Mecca, it was decided that the last 22 caravans of Iranian pilgrims (about 1,500 pilgrims tonight and tomorrow night each) will leave after Muharram. Going to the Shajara Mosque by train from Madinah to Mecca," Seyed Abbas Hosseini said.


He said that in this way, the issue of transporting pilgrims by train will be used on a trial basis so that we can use this capacity next year.


Gholamreza Rezaei, head of the Hajj operation headquarters, announced the delivery of Arafat and Mena tents and the start of their distribution among the managers of the collections and caravans.


The head of Mecca headquarters added that all visas have been received from the 87,550 quota of "our country in Hajj 1402", except for a few, and "we are trying to obtain and use the last visas before sending the last convoys to Jeddah airport".


The meeting continued with the report of Seyed Ali Marashi, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center, about the medical services provided to the pilgrims.


He mentioned the number of patients hospitalized in Saudi hospitals and the medical center hospital in Mecca as 19 and 30, respectively, and said that the total number of visits made since the beginning of the Hajj operation in Mecca has been more than 154,000.


Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Hossein Rokn al-Dini, the cultural deputy of the delegation of the Supreme Leader, also reported on the cultural programs that will be implemented during the days of Tashriq, and Mohammad Masoumi, the representative of Iran Air Airlines, said that with a total of 377 flights to Medina and Jeddah airports, all the pilgrims Iranians were transferred to Saudi Arabia, and the last convoys arrived in Jeddah on Friday morning by flight from Hamedan Airport and headed to Mecca to perform Tamatu Hajj.


He also pointed to the transfer of the bodies of three other Iranian pilgrims who died in the Land of Revelation to the country on Thursday night and said that so far, the bodies of 5 people who died in Hajj 1402 have been returned.


Appreciating the efforts made by the airline in the operation of transporting Iranian pilgrims, the representative of the religious leader in matters of Hajj and Pilgrimage noted the need to pay attention to the implementation of the programs of the days of Tashriq in all sectors and asked everyone to follow up and consider this matter so that God willing, this year's Hajj will be held in a favorable manner.
