Imam of the Indonesian Isteghlal Mosque meets with the Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs

According to the Hajj information base, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, in the continuation of his trip to Indonesia, visited the Isteghlal Mosque in Jakarta and talked with Nasr al-din Omar the imam of this mosque.

Referring the efforts and measures taken in Indonesia and Malaysia in order to reduce the economic power of Zionist regime after the recent developments and crimes in the Gaza Strip, imam of the Jakarta Isteghlal Mosque prayed at the meeting for the success and victory of the Palestinians.

He further pointed to the high position of Iranian thinkers in the Islamic world and expressed hope that the unity and solidarity between Iran and Indonesia will be realized as two great Islamic countries.

Expressing some of the efforts and measures taken to bring Shiites and Sunnis closer together in his country, the imam of Jakarta Isteghlal Mosque mentioned Iranians as the first Muslim missionaries in Indonesia and said: this is why the people of Indonesia are familiar with the Shiite culture and the presence of Iranian personalities and scholars in Indonesia is very happy for them.

Referring to the Qur'an and Sunnah, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs emphasized on the importance of responsibilities and duties of scholars and said in the continuation of the meeting that Muslims have always been influenced by religious leaders and scholars.

Expressing regret that some behaviors of Muslims do not follow religious teachings and Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab added: If all the Islamic Ummah acted according to religious teachings, incidents like the Gaza case would not have happened.

At the end, he explained how the mosques in Iran are managed and added transferring experiences in this field can be a synergy between the two sides.
