Head of the Iranian pilgrims meets with the Sheikh al-Islam of Thailand
Hojjat -al Islam Navvab met and talked with Mohammad Jalal al-din Hossein Sheikh al-Islam and Amir al-Haj of Thailand during his trip to the country.
According to the Hajj information base, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab and his companion delegation met and talked with Mohammad Jalal al-din Hossein Sheikh al-Islam and Amir al-Haj of Thailand during his trip to the country.
In this meeting, head of the Iranian pilgrims congratulated the election of Sheikh al-Islam of Thailand for this position and appreciated his role as the axis of the unity of the Muslims of Thailand and the growth of the Muslim people of this country.
Referring to the peaceful life of different religions and ethnic groups in Iran, he expressed his satisfaction with the existence of such a situation in Thailand.
Expressing his regret for the recent tragic events in Gaza, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs expressed his gratitude for Sheikh al-Islam's support of Palestinians in Gaza and expressed hope that the rest of Thai nationals who were sent to Gaza by Zionist regime will return to their country.
Referring to the good relations between Iran and Thailand and the role of Sheikh al-Islam of Thailand in promoting these relations in the future and also by recalling the meetings that are held with the Amir al-Haj of different countries in Mecca, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs invited the Amir al-Haj of Thailand to attend the Supreme Leader Delegation Office of Iran and also travelling to Iran.
Head of the Iranian Pilgrims further pointed out how to register and the number of Iranian pilgrims, who are thousands of Sunnis, and the number of people remaining to go to the land of revelation, and by stating the Arbaeen ceremony and participation of Muslims from Iran and other countries in this spiritual ceremony, he announced his readiness If the Muslims of Thailand are willing to participate in this ceremony, there will be cooperation.
Referring to some differences in the Hajj rituals of Shiites and Sunnis, head of the Iranian pilgrims demanded to provide conditions so the Shiites of Thailand could perform the rituals according to the Shiite religion.
In the continuation of this meeting, the Sheikh al-Islam of Thailand reminded the long-standing relations between the two countries and by stating that up to the 14th Sheikh al-Islam of Thailand are Shiites and the 15th to the 19th are Sunnis, he emphasized that there is a peaceful life between Shiites and Sunnis in Thailand at present, several mosques and Shia institutions have been allowed to operate.
He thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran position on the issue of Palestine and emphasized on following the example of Iran in this field and pointed to the joint program of the Islamic Bank to collect aid for the people of Gaza.
Sheikh al-Islam of Thailand expressed his gratitude for the invitation of Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs to meet the Amir al-Haj of Iran in the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the Hajj of the past years and expressed his readiness to continue this presence.
Referring to the importance of unity and the Hajj Congress in Muslim relations, Jalal al-din Hossein emphasized that, like the Islamic Republic of Iran, they are trying to strengthen unity in the Islamic world while meeting with the Amir al-Haj of different countries.
Expressing his condolences for the martyrdom of Imam Ali (a.s.), he stated that he has studied the Arabic text of Nahj al-Balaghah and if he has a translation, will provide it to the Muslims of this country.
pointing to the naming of Quds Day and Iran's actions in the past years to honor this day, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs suggested to the Sheikh of Thailand that the Friday imams of this country in the last Friday prayer of Ramadan this year discuss the issue of Palestine, which was welcomed by him.
At the end of this meeting, the Cultural Adviser of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Thailand announced his readiness for further cooperation with the complex under the management of Sheikh al-Islam.
