Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s.) was the founder of polytheists acquittal

While explaining some characteristics of Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH), including tolerance, compassion, truthfulness, sincerity and be a model, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs said: Ibrahim Khalilullah was the founder of avoiding polytheism and polytheists.

According to the Hajj information base, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian Pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab coincides with the first day of Dhul-Qa’dah and the beginning of the Hajj week, gave speech on Friday (Ordibehesht 21) as a speaker before the Friday prayer sermons in Tehran. 


At the beginning of his speech, he pointed out that the first decade of Dhul-Qa'dah has been designated as the decade of dignity and the first week of this lunar month as the Hajj week, and said: dispaching pilgrims to the Baitullah al-Haram will begin in the coming days, and the Iranian pilgrims will go to the land of revelation.


Referring to the recent statements of Supreme Leader in a meeting with those involved in the upcoming Hajj operations, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said: considering to of the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the defenseless people of Gaza, he named this year's Hajj as polytheists acquittal Hajj.


Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs added: at this meeting, Supreme Leader reminded that the pilgrims of Baitullah al-Haram should constantly remember God and pay special attention to unity with other Muslims. Supreme Leader also pointed to the example of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) in the Quran and introduced the Abrahamic faith as the source of heavenly religions.


Head of the Iranian pilgrims continued by pointing out that Islam is the closest religion to the Abrahamic religion and said: Imam Khomeini (RA) also called the Hajj al-Tamattu as the Abrahamic Hajj.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab enumerated some characteristics of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) and said: Pilgrims of Baitullah al-Haram, after circumambulating the House of God, perform Tawaf prayer behind Ibrahim's position, which indicates the high status of this great prophet.



In the Quran, the Almighty God, expressing the characteristics of Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH), introduces him as tolerant and compassionate, he said.


Referring to verse 120 of Surah Nahl, which says that Ibrahim was truly obedient to God and righteous and was not among the polytheists, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs added Ibrahim Khalilullah was an ummah who suffered the hardships of the community alone. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) was truthful and sincere, when he built the Kaaba, turned to the Almighty God and said, "O Allah, accept us."


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab referring to verse 120 of Surah Al-Baqarah, which says, "O Lord, rise up among them a messenger of themselves to recite your verses to them, teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them, because you yourself are invincible, and said: Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) was thoughtful about the future generations and in fact he can be considered the founder of the Islamic Ummah and religious organizations.


Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs mentioned Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) as the defender of oppressed people and the first person who went to the battlefield and said: he saved Hazrat Lot (AS) from the hands of Romans.


Ibrahim Khalilullah had the status of the Ummah leader, and God Almighty says in this regard in verse 124 of Surah Al-Baqarah: "I made you the leader of the people", he emphasized.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab considered Hazrat Ibrahim (a.s.) as the founder of avoiding idolaters and said: his debate and conversation with star worshipers, moon worshipers, and sun worshipers are mentioned in the Holy Quran that invite them to monotheism and avoiding polytheism.


In the end, pointing out the verses 8 and 9 of Surah Momtahanah which are dedicated to the issue of innocence, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs said: Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was the first person who fought with sword and explained the Hajj rituals, and God Almighty ordered him to slaughter his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S.), to test him but the father and son passed the test successfully.
