Coordination Meeting of Aviation and Hajj and Pilgrimage officials

A coordination meeting was held between Iran's aviation officials and Hajj and Pilgrimage directors to review the latest issues and developments in the transportation of pilgrims to Hajj 1403.

According to the Hajj information base, in the meeting held on Saturday in the meeting hall of the Supreme Leader's representative office, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and the head of Iranian pilgrims; Seyed Abbas Hosseini, Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization; Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh, head of the Civil Aviation Organization; Shamsuddin Farzadipour, CEO of Islamic Republic of Iran Airlines (Iran Air); Saeed Chalabari, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City (RA) and Mohammad Mirsamiei, CEO of Meraj Airlines were present.


In this meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab pointed out that there is a big difference between a pilgrim and a traveler and stated: A pilgrim spends money to perform a religious duty that he has been waiting for for 16 years.


Pointing out that serving the pilgrims is actually serving the Lord of the Sacred House, he gave recommendations to the officials of Salam Terminal of Imam Khomeini International Airport (RA) to make it clear that this terminal is different from other places in the airport and has a special spirituality.


He emphasized that arrangements should be made so that the pilgrims will receive the currency they need a few days before their flight, and efforts should be made to perform the farewell ceremony at an appropriate time.


"Verbal notices of the police are very important, but it is better to prepare video clips of the police notices and broadcast them to the Hajj pilgrims continuously," Hojjat al-Islam Navvab added.



Transportation of Hajj Pilgrims; Heavy Project of Aviation Industry


 


Seyed Abbas Hosseini, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, also said in this meeting that in this year's Hajj, according to the measures taken, it was decided that the responsibility of the work will be handed over to the Iran Air, and Meraj Airline, while using the experiences of this company, in transferring Pilgrims should be shared.


"Transportation of Hajj pilgrims is a heavy project for the airline industry and it is very important to preserve the credibility of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the issue of Hajj," he added.


Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh, head of the Civil Aviation Organization, also pointed out that currently 1,700 flights to foreign countries are made from Imam Khomeini Airport (RA) per week, and said that coordination is necessary for Hajj operations and the transportation of Hajj pilgrims and it has been done with the passport police.


He added that 21 airports in the country participate in the operation of transferring pilgrims, and this year, for the first time, two airports, Qeshm and Chabahar, were added to the airports where pilgrims are sent to the land of revelation, with the aim of honoring Sunni compatriots.


 


Setting up flight management and control center in 21 airports


 


Shamsuddin Farzadipour, the CEO of Iran Air also said in this meeting: Iran Air group looks at the Hajj operation as a religious duty.


He added that 20 meetings have been held with Hajj administrative bodies, and in this regard, a flight management and control center has been established in 21 airports that are responsible for the transportation of pilgrims. 


Farzadipour said that more than 87,000 pilgrims will be transported to the Land of Revelation, and "our representatives are stationed in Jeddah and Medina stations.


 


Launching two processions to serve pilgrims at Salam Terminal


 


Saeed Chalabari, CEO of Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport City, also stated that Imam Khomeini Airport is fully prepared and cargo acceptance has started since yesterday. "Also, 2 processions will be launched to welcome the pilgrims at Salam Terminal of the airport."


Mohammad Mirsamiei, CEO of Meraj Airlines, also stated in this meeting that Meraj Airlines, along with Iran Air, has the valuable responsibility of transporting Hajj pilgrims.


According to this report, at the end of this meeting, proposals were made regarding the transfer of Zamzam water to Iran so that it can be provided to the pilgrims upon their return.
