Hajj Operations and Return of Pilgrims Continue Peacefully
It was announced at the meeting of the planning council of the Supreme Leader's representative office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization that so far about 17,000 pilgrims have returned to Iran, and the Hajj operation and the process of transporting pilgrims continues peacefully.
According to the Hajj Information Base, in this meeting which was held this evening under the chairmanship of Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the head of Iranian pilgrims praised the efforts of the airline in transporting pilgrims to Iran and stated that these days, thousands of pilgrims leave for the Islamic homeland every day. The Hajj operation and the return process of the pilgrims continue peacefully.
In this meeting, Seyed Abbas Hosseini, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, by announcing this, expressed his hope that with the arrival of two more planes in the flight cycle, the operation of transporting pilgrims will speed up.
He described the satisfactory percentage of service provision as acceptable, and said that everyone is trying to facilitate the process of this cycle for Iranian pilgrims in Mecca and Medina as much as possible.
In the continuation of this meeting, Hassan Zarnegar, the Consul General of our country in Jeddah, reported on the follow-ups carried out to hold presidential elections in Saudi Arabia if the host country agrees and the consular measures taken for Iranian pilgrims, and about the burial and transportation of the dead pilgrims' bodies from the beginning of Hajj operation.
It should be remembered that the number of deceased pilgrims in this year's Hajj is less than the number of those who died in the previous Hajj.
Gholamreza Rezaei, the operations manager of Hajj 1403, also pointed out that about 20% of pilgrims have left Saudi Arabia in the past few days, and said that currently, 58,324 pilgrims in the form of 428 caravans are in Mecca and 10,385 pilgrims in the form of 76 caravans are in Medina.
"So far, 119 caravans of pilgrims have been transported to our country by 71 flights from Medina and Jeddah airports," he said.
Mohammad Masoumi, the representative of the airline, also emphasized that "we are trying to shorten the return operation period by increasing the number of planes".
Referring to the process of receiving the baggage of pilgrims at the two airports of Medina and Jeddah, he clarified that it is necessary to inform the managers and clerics of the caravans about the materials that the pilgrims can put in their luggage and convey the necessary points, including about the airport that removes containers and water bottles embedded in bags.
The report of Javad Daneshyar in charge of urban traffic regarding the activity of this department with 177 buses in 22 lines was one of the other points raised in this meeting, and he said that since the beginning of the operation, 52,600 bus traffics have been registered from 4 main stations and for 403 Pilgrimage caravan and other caravans will be held in the coming days.
"In the past 5 days, more than 10,000 pilgrims have been transferred from Mecca to Medina (the Prophet's city) by the Haramin express train to return to Iran after a 5-day stay in Medina and pilgrimage," he added.
