Second Round of Elections Will Be Held With Participation of Iranian Pilgrims
In the meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader's Mission and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in Mecca, it was announced that the necessary arrangements for holding the second round of presidential elections with the host country have been made, and this election will be held next Friday in a number of hotels in Mecca and Medina where Iranian pilgrims are accommodated.
According to the Hajj Information Base, in this meeting which was chaired by Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs in Mecca, while announcing this matter, it was stated that on the day of the election, about 20,000 pilgrims in Mecca and 11,000 people are present in Medina, and fixed and mobile boxes have been provided to collect votes from the pilgrims in the cities of Mecca and Medina, and these items have also been transferred to the host country.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab emphasized the need for the interaction and cooperation of all relevant units and stakeholders to obtain votes from pilgrims, including the pilgrims of the caravans going to Medina and Jeddah.
In the continuation of this meeting, he once again demanded to hold various meetings with the aim of making pilgrims more satisfied with the opportunity to visit the land of revelation and advised the executive and cultural officials to prioritize planning in this field.
"Managers and agents should also be present on the scene to provide services to the pilgrims like in the first days, so that their efforts of several weeks will not be affected," he stressed.
The head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization also gave an explanation regarding these points and statements made regarding the possibility of the return date of the pilgrims moving forward and asked the Deputy of Hajj and Pilgrimage to follow up on this issue in coordination with the airline officials and inform the caravans as necessary.
Gholamreza Rezaei, Deputy Director of Hajj and Umrah Organization of Hajj, also pointed to the implementation of new programs for pilgrims following the advice of Hojjat al-Islam Navvab to fill the free time of pilgrims, and said that colleagues are trying to prepare a new flight schedule within the next few hours.
He announced the number of pilgrims in the cities of Medina and Mecca as of 9,883 and 36,973, respectively, and said that about 45 percent of the pilgrims have been transferred to the Islamic homeland from Jeddah and Medina airports.
The report Hossein Ajdari, the head of the guidance and relief unit, about the programs of this unit in the Hajj 1403 and the pathology of the activities carried out, and Tahir Daroudi, the vice president of Hajj and Red Crescent Pilgrimage Medical Center, about the latest status of the sick pilgrims, was another focus of this meeting.
Referring to the fact that 13 pilgrims are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment in Saudi hospitals, Daroudi said that so far, 86 patients have been transported to Iran through flights from Jeddah airport with the coordination of the airline.
