Hojjat al-Islam Navvab: Activism Is Rooted in Like and Dislike

Explaining the concept of like and dislike, the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs emphasized that like and dislike are one of the most important human and relevant issues in the world, and most activism is rooted in like and dislike.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, who spoke to the directors and employees of the Agricultural Education and Extension Institute, while commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Fatima (SA), mentioned like and dislike as two hidden truths in the human being.

He stated that most activism is rooted in like and dislike, and said, "The human motivation for everything originates in liking and disliking."

"Imam Sadeq (AS) said in response to someone who asked whether like and dislike exist in religion: "Is religion (faith) anything but like and dislike?"," he added.

The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs described the presence of people dressed in black in these mourning gatherings as a sign of love for Zahra Marziyya and the Ahl al-Bayt, and said: When oppression and oppressors are discussed, all people become upset because they hate oppression and oppressors, and this has nothing to do with religion, but rather with the nature and constitution of man.

"In the past 14 months, in the world and even in countries where there was oppression and boycotts, people came to the scene and chanted slogans in favor of oppressed Palestine and expressed their hatred for the oppression of the oppressor and the tyranny of the child-killing regime, because it is in the nature of all humans to love the oppressed and hate the oppressor," he further added.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab further pointed out that even the liberal democratic rulers who talk about freedom and justice were forced to declare that these two people who committed oppression should be arrested. "Of course, if they want to be realistic, both the perpetrators and the perpetrators should be arrested and tried."

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab stated that the martyrdom of tens of thousands of people in Gaza and Lebanon and the destruction and crimes that have been committed will remain in history, and stated: "These people think that they can rule by force while they are condemned. The presence of people in support of the Palestinians is out of love for the oppressed and hatred for the oppressor, and this is not exclusive to Muslims, to the extent that even Buddhists in East Asia and Hindus in India came to the scene."

Pointing out that like and dislike should be accompanied by logic and that religion is what shows logic, he reminded people of their stubbornness in the face of many worthless things, and said: "Loving without logic makes people deaf and blind."

The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs continued by referring to the story of Omar Saad and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) in exchange for the offer to reach the land of Rey, and said: The love of reaching this land blinded Omar and with self-deception, he martyred the son of the Prophet (PBUH).

He said that Imam Ali (AS) says: "Don't love God's enemies or make your friendship pure for those who are not God's friends, because whoever loves people will be surrounded by them."

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, referring to the content of verse 69 of Surah Nisa, "And those who obey God and His Messenger, of course, they will be with those whom God has favored, i.e. with the prophets, the martyrs, and the righteous, and these are good companions." He added: "The lover of the prophets will sit with them. Martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani, who was a son of the village of Qanat Malek, achieved a position through sacrifice and service. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution, in prayer over his body, says three times with tears in his eyes before the Almighty: "O Allah, we know from them nothing but good and goodness."
