Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs: Research in Hajj and Pilgrimage Is Based on Vision Drawn by Leaders of the Islamic Revolution
The Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and pilgrimage affairs said that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has outlined important horizons for this field in his meeting with Hajj officials, and it is expected that researchers in this field will define and conduct their research based on these horizons drawn by the Imams.
According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab at the ceremony commemorating the Research Week at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Center in Qom said, "The research horizon of this research center should go beyond the official audience of Hajj and pilgrimage. Millions of people who are interested in the Ahl al-Bayt visit the holy places in Iran and other Islamic countries every year, especially the Arbaeen procession, and this range is the target audience of this research center's research."
"On the other hand, pilgrims from Arab-speaking countries and other countries are also interested in visiting the holy sites of Mecca and Medina, and scientific and cultural products appropriate to these audiences should be prepared by the researchers of this center," he added.
The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs added that over the past years, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has outlined a specific horizon for this field in his meetings with Hajj officials. He has also expressed a more comprehensive perspective in the statement of the second step of the revolution and the Jihad of Explanation. It is necessary that the research defined at the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute be based on the specific and general cultural horizons that have been expressed by them.
He mentioned monitoring and needs assessment as other necessities of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Research Institute, and said, "The issue of monitoring in our cultural affairs should be strengthened. It is necessary for experts to monitor the current and future space and define research and cultural products according to the needs of the society and the audience."
In another part of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, citing narrations from the Infallible Imams (peace be upon them), mentioned “sincerity of intention” as another necessity of any action, and said, "We have reports from scholars and researchers whose works have been published in the Islamic world thanks to their sincere intentions. Sincerity of intention and avoiding boasting and seeking fame are the ethical principles of research."
It is worth mentioning that in this conference, 6 new works written in the form of a textbook on Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs were unveiled by the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs.
