Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs: Correcting Shortcomings and Improving Umrah Travel Services

The Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said the demands of pilgrims who come to the Land of Revelation today are different from those of pilgrims in previous decades, and "we must reform and upgrade our processes" based on the needs of today's pilgrims.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, at the end of his trip to Mecca and Medina, said in an interview that the results of the trip were positive: "With God's help, after a ten-year hiatus, Umrah was reopened and Iranian pilgrims were able to visit the House of God and the Prophet's Shrine."

The Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs added: "Given the long hiatus in the expedition, it was necessary to review the process and evaluate the shortcomings. Therefore, all matters were reviewed in conjunction with the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization to eliminate the shortcomings and improve services."

He said, "The officials of the host country admit that Iranian pilgrims behave more appropriately and have specific and regular frameworks among pilgrims from other countries. It is even said that the Islamic Republic's systems for Iranian pilgrims are a model for other countries."

The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said "we must reform the processes every year. Today's pilgrim is different from the pilgrim who visited the land of revelation a decade ago. We are at the service of the children of those who visited two decades ago, and today's pilgrims have different needs, and we must try to meet all the needs of the pilgrims."

"The officials of the host country are also looking for measures to provide the best hospitality for the pilgrims, but we must demand, because the best land in the world is the land of revelation, and if we can help the executive officials, we have helped the Muslims in a way, and Iranian pilgrims will definitely benefit from it," Hojjat al-Islam Navvab added.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said that the reforms were made in some processes during this trip, and more will be reformed by next week.

He also said about the student Umrah: "Yesterday, there was a meeting in the Qom mission where cultural officials and officials of the leadership institution in universities and caravan managers were present, and various issues were raised, explanations were made, and with God's help, the conditions are ready for the presence of students performing Umrah in the land of revelation."

The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said in an advice to students: "This is a spiritual journey and going to the margins will cause problems."

The Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs added that with special equipment and monitoring that is done with artificial intelligence in cyberspace, students must comply so as not to encounter problems and get the best benefit from this journey.
