Capacity building to send more than 200,000 Umrah pilgrims to the land of revelation
In a meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader's Mission and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, it was announced that the number of Iranian pilgrims will exceed 200,000 in the current Umrah operation.
According to the Hajj Information base, the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader's Mission and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization was held under the chairmanship of Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab. Announcing the issue, CEO of the Umrah Saadat Institute Mr. Nasrollah Farahmand stated at the meeting: so far more than 136,000 Umrah pilgrims have visited the land of revelation, and according to the planning, the flight schedule will continue in the month of Ramadan, and we are trying to increase the number of Umrah pilgrims by about two times for the coming period.
Referring to the flight delays, head of the Iranian pilgrims and chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization emphasized on follow-ups to ensure the upcoming Hajj and Umrah flights and to continue using Taif airport.
In the continuation of this meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Hossein Bahjati and Hojjat al-Islam Hossein Kardan, managers of Supreme Leader's Mission representative offices in Karbala and Najaf, and also Hossein Nikravesh, head of the Hajj Organization representative office in Iraq, reported on the latest measures and follow-ups and the problems in sending pilgrimage caravans by companies under the supervision of Hajj Organization to holy shrines and the pilgrims’ presence, accommodation, feeding, etc. in the pilgrimage cities of Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya and Samarra, and the proposed solutions.
Emphasizing that a distinction should be made between companies that fulfill their obligations and provide appropriate services and those that are weak in their services, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab called the officials of Supreme Leader’s Mission and Hajj Organization in Iraq and Atabat-Aliyat deputy to announce the list of weak companies to the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization chairman so that appropriate measures can be taken on how to continue their cooperation.
Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Mr. Alireza Bayat also described the raised points as important and emphasized: the problems which were raised should be quickly addressed and the necessary changes should be made in the processes in accordance with the report prepared during the recent visit of Atabat deputy and the issues raised in the video communication.
It was announced at the meeting that Head of the Iranian Pilgrims and chairman of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization will closely follow the planning and process of solving problems of pilgrimage caravans.
Based on this report, deputy of hajj and pilgrimage organization in Hajj and Umrah affairs Mr. Akbar Rezaei reported on differences in the previous and upcoming Hajj guidelines and said: guidelines and topics for holding pilgrims training sessions have been sent so that they can be implemented more quickly with the presence of caravan clergy.
Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center Dr. Seyed Ali Marashi also referred to the measures that should be coordinated and carried out in accordance with the Saudi guidelines for the upcoming Hajj, and stated: the number of doctors for examining pilgrims has been determined and have been sent to the provinces.
