Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs meets with the Custodian of Holy Alawi Shrine
Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, along with head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage organization Alireza Bayat and accompanying delegation met and talked with Mr. Seyed Isa Al-Kharsan, the Custodian of Holy Alawi Shrine.
According to the Hajj Information base, while thanking the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Alawi for their cooperation with the servants of Iranian pilgrims, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab said during this meeting that given the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and the Nowruz holidays, God willing, appropriate arrangements will be made for Iranian pilgrims.
Pointing out that cultural work has always been an integral part of the guardianship of the holy shrines, he emphasized on recognizing and addressing the pilgrims’s as an effective and important cultural task by the custodians of holy shrines.
In another part of the meeting, Mr. Seyed Isa Al-Kharsan, Custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine, stated that Najaf Ashraf is the oldest continuous cultural center in the Islamic world, thanks to the blessings of the Amir al-Mu'mineen Ali (AS), and pointed out that there are other cultural centers in the Islamic world, but Najaf is definitely the oldest center.
The shrine plans to hold a ceremony to mark the thousandth anniversary of founding Najaf Seminary by Sheikh Tusi, the custodian of the Alawi Holy Shrine added.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, while appreciating the preparation of such a program, noted that some centers in Iran, including the seminaries of Mashhad and Qom, could help to implementation of this program as well as possible. This suggestion was welcomed by the custodian of the Holy Alawi Shrine.
Mr. Seyed Issa Al-Kharsan also wished success to Mr. Dr. Alireza Bayat as head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, appreciated the cooperation and coordination of Supreme Leader mission officials in Iraq, and expressed hope that the joint service of Iraqi and Iranian officials to the pilgrims of holy places in Iraq will improve and increase day by day.
