Hajj and pilgrimage officials visit Karbala kitchen;
Cooking 2m meals for Atabat pilgrims in 1403, the process is completely hygienic and supervised
Hajj and pilgrimage officials who are in Iraq visited the process of cooking and distributing food to Iranian pilgrims in Karbala. The number of meals cooked for Iranian pilgrims will exceed two million in Karbala by the end of year.
According to the Hajj Information base, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage organization Alireza Bayat and several of deputies and directors of this organization and Supreme Leader's Delegation Office, who are in Iraq to supervise the provision of services to Iranian pilgrims, visited the kitchen of Abu Turab in Karbala.
Karbala centralized kitchen has the capacity to cook about 10,000 meals per servings, of which about 6,000 meals are currently being cooked and distributed.
Officials of this kitchen told the Hajj Information Center reporter that in 1403, more than 1.8 million servings of food have been cooked at the kitchen, and this figure will exceed 2 million servings by the end of year.
This kitchen serves 170 caravans of Iranian pilgrims in Karbala daily, providing them with hot and healthy food.
Those involved in Hajj and pilgrimage are looking for greater food diversity in the future and are making the necessary plans in this regard according to the tastes of the pilgrims.
The process of monitoring cooking, from the preparation of food items to cooking and distribution, is completely hygienic and supervised.
