Head of Iranian Hajj Pilgrims: For First Time, All Hajj Caravans Will Have Assistants

According to the Hajj Organization Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, head of Iranian pilgrims, told the executive agents of Hajj 1404 from the provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Qom, Markazi, Qazvin and Kashan that the number of pilgrims in Hajj last year was less than the number of caravans and that pilgrims had requested in surveys that each caravan have a assistant.

The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said at a conference of the staff directors of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization with the executive agents of Hajj 1404 in Tehran, "Given that we cannot increase the number of pilgrims, for the first time in Hajj 1404, instead of each pilgrim for a caravan, we have foreseen one pilgrim for every 450 pilgrims in order to provide justice for the presence of pilgrims among all pilgrims in the Land of Revelation."

The head of Iranian pilgrims also considered holding early training sessions for pilgrims as a reason for them to forget until the Hajj days arrive, and asked the caravan managers to hold their training programs about a week before the pilgrims’ flight and before that.

In this conference, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also explained the requirements of Hajj and pilgrimage, and listed dynamism and innovation, cooperation and assistance, meeting the needs of pilgrims before the time of their need, self-assessment and self-audit, and defending the rights of pilgrims as among the requirements of Hajj and pilgrimage.

Honest service was another important issue that Hojjat al-Islam Navvab raised, saying that selfless service, using all opportunities to serve, and serving vulnerable people are among the characteristics of honest service to pilgrims.
