Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs visits IRNA

Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab attended the Islamic Republic News Agency on Sunday morning (Farvardin 24) and met with the CEO of IRNA. He also visited various departments of the agency.

According to the Hajj Information base, in a meeting with Dr. Jaberi Ansari, CEO of IRNA, Hojjat -Islam Seyed Abdulfattah Navvab, referring to the presence of pilgrims and various Hajj caravans in the cities and provinces of the country, called for a narrative of these caravans’ activities in IRNA.

Sometimes, the caravans of counties have initiatives and innovations in preparing pilgrims for the Hajj journey, and IRNA's coverage of these measures can, by modeling and inspiring, spread these useful measures to all Iranian pilgrims and other caravans, he added.

Referring to the presence of Saudi ambassador at a training session for one of the Hajj caravans in Tehran, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said: the Saudi ambassador described the order and system of Iranian pilgrims and caravans as strong in this visit. Of course, similar words were previously made by the late Sheikh Saleh, head of the Masjid al-Haram and Prophet's Mosque affairs, in a meeting we had, and he had said that the Iranian Hajj systems are stronger and more advanced than those of other countries.

The spiritual sessions of Kumail Prayer, Nudba and Arafat, which are the legacy of the Infallibles (peace be upon them) and practiced by pilgrims, are not exclusive to Iranian pilgrims. Also, the taste of pilgrims and caravans in choosing different and specific fabrics for each caravan is unique among pilgrims from other Islamic countries, he said.

Referring to the 90-year history of the Islamic Republic News Agency and the Supreme Leader's emphasis on the effective role of the country's media in the current media war, Dr. Jaberi Ansari also said at the meeting: unfortunately, in some cases, media authority has been transferred abroad; however, in the new period of IRNA News Agency management, we are trying to return media authority to the country by strengthening the national vision and professional approach at IRNA.

While expressing IRNA's strategies for realizing a national and professional vision, CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency, said: "We believe that Iran is not just Tehran, but the entire country; the country's issues are not limited to politics, and thirdly, Iran is not in a vacuum; rather, it is present in a global environment, and in order to strengthen IRNA's role, attention must be paid to this global environment."

Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs met with IRNA reporters in the domestic and foreign news rooms, and also spoke with the news agency's cultural correspondent in the IRNA studio.
