Over 205,000 Umrah Pilgrims Dispatched to the Land of Revelation
In a meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader's Mission and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, it was announced that the number of Umrah pilgrims dispatched to the Land of Revelation from Shahrivar 18 to the end of the current Umrah operation has reached 205,160 people.
According to the Hajj Information Base, in Monday's meeting of the Planning and Coordination Council of the Supreme Leader's Delegation and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, which was presided by Supreme Leader's Representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the CEO of the Umrah Saadat Institute Nasrallah Farahmand, while noting that the last Umrah caravans were sent to the Land of Revelation on Farvardin 19, stated that the last return flight for Umrah pilgrims would Ordibehesht 1.
Farahmand mentioned the payment of compensation to Umrah pilgrims who did not use the Haramain train or had unscheduled delays in their flights, and said: "These cases will begin today."
In the continuation of this meeting, Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Alireza Bayat asked those involved in Umrah operations to put on the agenda the dispatch of 400,000 or more people for the upcoming Umrah, which will begin on the 15th of Muharram.
Bayat emphasized that the services of domestic and foreign airlines should be used to send Umrah pilgrims and to repair flight damage, and care should be taken to ensure that the image of the Hajj and pilgrimage complex is not damaged due to the performance of other organizations.
The meeting continued with a report by Hamid Reza Mohammadi, Deputy Director for Management and Resources Development of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, regarding the formation of two Hajj Tamattu caravans for Iranians residing abroad, and Dr. Seyed Ali Marashi regarding the medical services provided in the Umrah operation and examinations of upcoming Hajj pilgrims.
The head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center Dr. Marashi while noting that 69,380 and 132,608 examinations have been made so far in Medina and Mecca, respectively, stated that the number of deaths is 7 and 29 in Medina and Mecca, respectively.
He added, "The examinations of 81,627 upcoming Hajj pilgrims have also been finalized, and while the files of 359 people have been reviewed by the national commission, 190 have been approved so far, and the physical fitness of a total of 341 people has not been approved by the provincial and national commissions.
The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs also described the high number of visits to medical centers and the deaths of compatriots during Umrah operations, and called for finding appropriate solutions, using the cooperation of the Academy of Medical Sciences, to screen Umrah pilgrims before sending them to the land of revelation and to provide information in the fields of medicine, therapy, and medicine to Umrah pilgrims.
In the continuation of this meeting, Morteza Aghaei, Deputy Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, referred to the increase in the price of airline tickets and foreign exchange and its impact on the cost of new registrations for pilgrimages, and said, "The passenger currency has not yet been implemented for pilgrims to the shrines, and we hope that the Central Bank will cooperate and this issue will be implemented as soon as possible."
According to this report, in this meeting, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization reported on the topics raised in the first meeting of the National Pilgrimage Working Group in 1404 with the aim of improving the provision of services to pilgrims, and the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs also recommended that the capacity of the caravan managers be utilized to form groups and travel pilgrims to pilgrimage sites within the country and within the framework of the law.
The meeting ended with a report by Hojjat al-Islam Mansour Mirahmadi, Deputy for International Affairs of the Supreme Leader's Delegation, on the idea of a 'Global Hajj Prize' and the steps envisaged for its implementation.
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab called for the use of the opinions of scholars and personalities familiar with the areas considered for the implementation of this idea and recommended that the opportunity of Hajj be used to gather information.
