Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs:
Muslim unity leaves no room for enemy influence

Emphasizing on Muslims solidarity and convergence, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab said: "If Muslims have had solidarity and unity, the enemies of Islam would not have been able to shed the blood of people and Muslims and usurp and occupy their lands."

According to the Hajj Information base, at the Hajj Great Congress in Isfahan, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims offered condolences on the anniversary of Imam Sadiq (AS) martyrdom and stated: "We thank God Almighty for granting us the success of visiting his house, and we ask God Almighty to grant us the success of visiting the Imam of the Age (AS)."

Stating that this year's Hajj Tamattu ceremony will be held with the slogan "Quranic behavior, Islamic convergence, and support for oppressed Palestine," he noted: "These slogans are specific only to Islamic Iran, and Hajj ceremonies in other countries are not held with a specific slogan, and if they do have a slogan, it is not with these themes, and this is an achievement of the pure blood of the martyrs and the guidelines of the Imams of the Revolution."

Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs went on to explain the themes chosen for the slogan of this year's Hajj ceremony and said: "Quranic conduct means that our behavior should be Quranic, that we should bring the Quran into our lives, and that we should implement its instructions in our lives; the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was the embodied Quran, and anyone who has Quranic ethics and life will find a spiritual connection with the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

If Muslims have had solidarity and unity, the enemies of Islam would not have been able to shed the blood of people and Muslims and usurp and occupy their lands, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab added.

If Muslims followed Islamic injunctions and were united, there would be no room for enemy influence, he said.

In another part of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab explained the etiquette of Hajj Tammatu and said: "The most important etiquette of Hajj is to seek divine pleasure; all acts of worship should be for the sake of divine pleasure, but during the Hajj ceremony, Satan may infiltrate and human egos to crystallize, and human intentions may not be pure. Try to end the Hajj and Umrah with obedience to God, and divine pleasure is very important in Hajj.

Imam Sadiq (AS) has instructions on how to perform Hajj ceremony, which consist of dozens of clauses, and he says that when you want to go for Hajj, empty your heart of everything except the remembrance of God and entrust all your affairs and tasks to God.

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab continued by recalling the Supreme Leader's statements about the need to pay attention to Nahj al-Balagha, and noted: Amir al-Mu'minin (AS) states in the first sermon of Nahj al-Balagha that God has chosen pilgrims for the Hajj journey; everyone couldn’t go to Hajj; some, despite having the financial means, cannot go to Hajj because their faith has not yet reached a level where they can fall in love with Hajj and go to Hajj.

Emphasizing on the importance of avoiding glamor in the behavior of pilgrims, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said: "The clothing of pilgrims should be neat. The Hajj journey is not a place for luxury. The etiquette of the Hajj journey is that the pilgrims' clothing should be simple and without color, because simplicity is one of the etiquettes of the Hajj journey."

He continued by pointing out the importance of halal wealth during the Hajj pilgrimage and said: impure wealth disrupts a person's energy, and God will not pay attention to a person who takes away the rights of other people.

The fourth element of Hajj rituals is forgiveness and peaceful coexistence, because Muslims from all over the world are present on Hajj trip, and it is appropriate for pilgrims to empathy with other Muslims on this spiritual journey, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs added.

In another part of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab advised pilgrims to learn the rituals of Hajj well so that performing the rituals would be easy for them, he said.

Continuing his speech, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs considered following the example of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) as the seventh etiquette of the Hajj journey and reminded: Last year, in a meeting with Hajj pilgrims, Supreme Leader recommended them to use the teachings of Prophet Abraham (PBUH).

In conclusion, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab considered gaining the approval of Imam Zaman (a.s.), patience during the journey, and good humor as other etiquettes for the Hajj journey, and said: we must strive to cultivate these qualities in ourselves.
