Head of Iranian Pilgrims Departs for Land of Revelation

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, head of Iranian pilgrims, left Tehran for Medina on Saturday, along with Alireza Bayat, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, and a group of Hajj and Pilgrimage officials.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and the head of Iranian pilgrims, who was officially escorted by Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, Deputy for International Relations of the Supreme Leader's Office, left for Medina on Saturday morning (May 10) to closely monitor the process of providing services to Iranian pilgrims.

Alireza Bayat, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, is also accompanying the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and the head of Iranian pilgrims on this trip, which will take place along with pilgrims from several Hajj caravans headed to Medina.

Before leaving for Medina at Imam Khomeini International Airport, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab told reporters that he wished success to the pilgrims of Hajj Tamattu 1404 in completing the rituals and said that "we hope that these pilgrims will return to the Islamic country in good health and with an accepted Hajj".

Stating that all necessary measures in the cultural, educational and health fields have been taken by the Supreme Leader's delegation, the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the Red Crescent, he noted: Numerous conferences and briefing sessions have been held for all pilgrims of the Holy House in various fields, and some of them will be held in Medina and Mecca.

Referring to the slogan of this year's Hajj, which is "Hajj, Quranic conduct, Islamic convergence, and support for oppressed Palestine," the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said: "The Quran is an endless treasure, and for this reason, familiarity with the Quran and the use of Quranic teachings have been chosen as a main pillar of this year's Hajj slogan."

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also pointed out the aspect of Islamic convergence in this year's Hajj slogan, noting that convergence and unity among Islamic countries strengthens all of them, but conversely, division wastes potential and leads to weakening all of them.

He added, "We believe that all conflicts that exist between Islamic countries are imported and are the product of the malice of foreigners; unfortunately, the enemies activate and exploit the faults; while these conflicts do not benefit any of the Islamic countries."

Regarding the pillar of support for oppressed Palestine, the head of Iranian pilgrims also emphasized in this year's Hajj slogan that the support of Islamic countries and nations for Palestine can reduce the great suffering of this oppressed nation.

Regarding the cooperation of the Saudi government with the performance of rituals and prayers by pilgrims, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also referred to the good memories of Iranian pilgrims of holding collective prayers of Kumeil next to the Baqi cemetery and expressed hope that this type of prayer will be resumed around the Prophet's shrine and holy places with the cooperation of the host government.

He also said that Iranian pilgrims are among the most regular pilgrims, according to the authorities of the host country.

A group of managers from the Supreme Leader's delegation and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization were also present at the farewell ceremony for the head of Iranian pilgrims and the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization at the Salam Terminal of Imam Khomeini (R) International Airport in Tehran.
