Field Visit by Head of Iranian Hajj Pilgrims to Process of Dispatching Pilgrims to Mecca

The dispatch of Iranian Hajj pilgrims from Medina to Mecca via high-speed trains continues in a very good order and without problems.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and the head of Iranian pilgrims, along with Alireza Bayat, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, and a group of directors of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, attended the Haramain Express Train Station on Sunday night (May 11, 2025) to closely monitor the status of sending Iranian pilgrims from Medina to Mecca.

Tonight, on the second night of sending pilgrims from Medina to Mecca, pilgrims from Qaemshahr, Amol, Babol, Qazvin, Babolsar and some other cities set off for Mecca.

According to the officials, 2,250 pilgrims were sent to Medina tonight, and including the 1,813 people sent on the first night (Saturday night, 20 Ordibehesht 1404), more than 4,000 Iranian pilgrims have so far set off for Mecca.

The trains start at 9:20 p.m., and the last train leaves for Mecca at 11:20 p.m. every night. Each high-speed train covers this route in about 2 hours. While before such trains were used for sending, the time that pilgrims spent on the route from Medina to Mecca by bus was more than 6 hours.

This initiative and the use of better facilities have made Iranian pilgrims more satisfied and welcomed this issue.

After visiting this process, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab told reporters that with the better facilities provided by the high-speed train, pilgrims can remember and remember God with more peace and less fatigue and pay more attention to the acts and rituals of Hajj.

Referring to Iran's leadership in using these facilities in the land of revelation, he noted that the use of these trains began for the first time in Hajj 1403, continued during part of Umrah last year, and has continued this year with greater capacity.

Some pilgrims who have experience of Hajj Tamattu before traveling by train told reporters that this initiative has reduced the time spent by pilgrims on the route by one third or even more, and has provided greater satisfaction to pilgrims.
