According to the Hajj Information base, on the first day of his presence in Mecca, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab along with head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage organization, went to the Housing Complex 6, where the veterans' caravan was located, to pay respect to these loved ones and listen to their issues and problems during the Hajj journey.
Expressing his gratitude to the spinal cord amputation veterans in this caravan, Hojjat al-lslam Navvab stated: "You, my dear ones, are the pride of the country, and just as a part of your body has gone to heaven, God willing, you yourself will also reside in heaven."
During this meeting, which was also attended by deputy of Hajj and Pilgrimage organization in Hajj and Umrah affairs Mr. Rezaei and Head of the Mecca Headquarters, the proud veterans, their families and other pilgrims staying at the hotel expressed their concerns in a cordial atmosphere, while thanking the visit of the Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs.
The distance from the hotel to Holy Shrine, the long Hajj pilgrimage schedule, the difficulty of attending the Ruzah al-Nabi in Medina and the lack of sufficient space for wheelchairs to turn were among the issues raised in the presence of Hojjat al-Islam Navvab and orders were given to follow up on them in the presence of the authorities.
Some of the veterans' families also called Supreme Leader's representative to provide them with the opportunity to meet with the Supreme Leader.
The veterans' caravan doctor also stated that veterans have special protocols, adding: a veteran with a spinal cord injury must have two companions and be able to move to the bathroom in a wheelchair.
While listening to all the issues and complaints of the veterans and their families, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab emphasized on resolving these issues and also recommended that when renting hotels, the selected hotel for the veterans' caravan be reviewed and determined in the presence of a representative of the Veterans' Foundation so that it has suitable conditions for accommodating these loved ones in every way.
