Supreme Leader's Representative Tells Sunni Pilgrims: Unity Between Shiites and Sunnis in Iran can Become Role Model for Islamic World
The nationwide conference of Iranian Sunni pilgrims entitled "Islamic convergence in Hajj to defend Palestine" was held with the presence and speech of the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, and the representative of the Sunnis of Golestan Province in the Assembly of Experts.
According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the head of Iranian pilgrims, today in this gathering and while referring to his presence among the Sunni brothers, said: "In these gatherings, I always saw the purity and sincerity of the Sunnis with the Shiites. This unity must increase day by day so that it becomes a model for the Islamic world."
He considered the function of the Hajj slogans to align strengths and capacities, and expressing his happiness at being among the Sunni pilgrims, while giving recommendations for making the best use of the Hajj season and self-improvement and presence in the Sacred House of Allah, he said: The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also went from here to the Cave of Hira for worship and sought refuge with his God; Dear friends, during your time in Mecca, make every effort to improve yourself.
The representative of the Supreme Leader in matters of Hajj and pilgrimage, referring to the verse which says: "There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; he is concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.", advised the pilgrims of the Holy House to develop four characteristics of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in ourselves.
Referring to the compassion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for Muslims, he said: If there were a problem for Muslims, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) would be worried, and today we should all be concerned about the problems of the oppressed people of Palestine and help them.
Referring to the characteristics of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Hojjat al-Islam Navvab said: The Holy Prophet (PBUH) considered all Muslims as members of his family, was kind and compassionate to the believers, and was ordered to be tolerant with people. Today, if we Muslims are united, we will succeed, and the strength of Islamic countries will strengthen the strength of all. The enemy certainly does not want the Islamic world to be strong, because in this case no power can break them; but now that there is a difference in the Islamic world, they are martyring the great figures of the Islamic world by bombing.
Referring to the resistance and insight of the Sunnis of Iran in the plots hatched by foreigners and enemies of Islam, the head of the Iranian pilgrims said: "Peace be upon the Sunni sisters and brothers who, when the enemy wanted to activate them in seditions, they consciously rejected it."
At the end of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab also honored the memory of Ms. Nazqolichi, the martyr of the Mina incident, and the Sunni clerics and servants, and sought forgiveness and divine pleasure for them.
In this conference, Dr. Alireza Bayat, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, also expressed his appreciation for the discipline of the Sunni pilgrims in his speech and, referring to the efforts made to provide the best facilities for all Shiite and Sunni pilgrims from different provinces, said: "We are happy that this year the closest hotel to the shrine is at your disposal, dear pilgrims."
Hajj Akhund Kamal Gharavi, representative of the people of Golestan in the Assembly of Experts, Hojjat al-Islam Akbari, Director of Sunni Affairs of the Supreme Leader's Mission, and Hajj Akhund Esmail Qadeeri, a Sunni cleric, also spoke at the conference.
