Head of the Iranian pilgrims in Arafat Desert:
acqittal from polytheists; tradition of prophets and free people throughout history/ Imam Khomeini (RA) is the reviver of Ibrahimi Hajj
At the ceremony of acquittal of polytheists, which was held with a large number of pilgrims in the Arafat Desert, the text of Supreme Leader's message to Baitullah al-Haram pilgrims was read by Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs and head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab.
According to the Hajj Information base, head of the Iranian pilgrims also gave a speech outlining the brief history of acquittal of polytheists throughout history and its philosophy.
At the beginning of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab addressed Hazrat Mahdi (a.s.), and said: "Today, in this desert of Arafat, pray for us as well, but before us, pray for the oppressed in Gaza, for the people of Palestine, for the oppressed in Lebanon, and for all oppressed Muslims."
Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs stated: today, we have gathered here, in the Arafat Desert to hold the ceremony of acquittal from polytheists, which Imam Khomeini (RA), the reviver of the Ibrahimi Hajj, revived and announced to Muslims, a dear and noble Imam whose valuable views and dimensions were expressed yesterday by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution at the anniversary ceremony of his passing away.
Stating that the acquittance is not a new issue, but the dear Imam revived it, head of the Iranian pilgrims continued: "History has always been full of divergences and convergences, and humans have always enjoyed the spirit of love and hatred, and in a saying of the Infallibles, we have the question: Is religion other than love and hatred?"
Today, not only Muslims but also non-Muslims of all religions, from East Asian Buddhists to American Jews have raised the flag of oppressed Palestine, and they have trampled on the flag of Israel, and this is the same convergence with Palestine and the acquittal and divergence from the fake regime of Zionist, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab added.
If we clench our fists today, it is God’s command; we say, O Messenger of God, we are on your front and we are facing your enemies. And this tradition of acquittal from polytheists is found in the words of all the infallibles, including Imam Ali (AS) - who recited the verses of Surah Bara’at loudly at the site of Jamarat al-Aqaba on the orders of the Prophet of God - and also in the hadith of Imam Sadiq (AS), Supreme Leader's Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs emphasized.
Emphasizing that in contemporary times, Imam Khomeini (RA) revived the idea of acquittal from polytheists, he said Hajj without spirit, movement, and uprising, and Hajj without acquittance, is not Hajj.
