Head of Iranian Hajj Pilgrims: Attending congregational prayers at two Holy Mosques is following the mission of Prophet Abraham (PBUH)

According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, on Friday, June 19, at the "Thank You for Attending the Ancient House" meeting, which aimed to honor the pilgrims who had a significant presence in the prayers of the two Holy Mosques, explained the high value of performing prayers in the Grand Mosque, and said: "This action of yours is based on the great goal and movement of Prophet Abraham, and you should appreciate it."

He recited verse 37 of Surah Abraham which says: “Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your Sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So fill hearts among the people with inclination toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they may be grateful.”, and said: "Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) chose, by the command of God Almighty, his young wife and infant child to settle in this hot and barren land to offer prayers. You who pray in the Two Holy Mosques should know that you are the followers of this divine prophet and consider this success as God's grace and perform it with gratitude."

Hojjat al-Islam Navvab recommended the recitation of the sixth prayer of Imam Sajjad, "Khamseh-e-Asher", which is the prayer of those who thank God, to the pilgrims, because this success would not have been possible without the grace of God Almighty.

The head of the Iranian pilgrims to the House of God considered the fulfillment of duty as another point of the recited verse of the Quran, and said: Prophet Abraham fulfilled his duty, and now, after thousands of years, millions of people are in love and fascinated with the journey to this land. In our beloved country, the wait for this journey has also reached 30 years. No other place on earth has such a waiting list, and this is one of the results of fulfilling one's duty.

He added: "Imam Ali (peace be upon him) also discussed in his sermon of Qasa'ah the wisdom of the location of the House of God in the dry and scorching land of Hijaz. The House of God is not located in a region with a pleasant climate so that pilgrims travel to this land only for spiritual pleasure and to gain the grace of pilgrimage."

In part of his speech, the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj affairs referred to cases of rebellion against the actions of Prophet Abraham and said: "Some people, are the example of "He sees with the light of God", and future generations will understand their decisions. Like Imam Khomeini, who at the height of the military rule of the imperial regime ordered people to take to the streets, this was while many people were unable to understand this order and only later realized his wise action.

He added: "Among other cases of Imam Khomeini's duty-oriented and wise actions was sending a message to the Soviet President, which Ayatollah Javadi Amoli read and then handed over to Gorbachev. In this message, Imam Khomeini had predicted the defeat of communism." This prediction is only within the framework of the same rule which is he sees with the light of God.

In another part of his speech, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab referred to the occasion of Mubahala, and said: Before the Mubahala, the Holy Prophet used all his efforts to negotiate purposefully and convey his message until he finally participated in the Mubahala, and because of the righteousness of him and his family, the enemies of Islam withdrew from the Mubahala.

He added: "We too must seek refuge in this method in all aspects of life and the Islamic Revolution. Because, according to the words of the late Imam and the Supreme Leader, our logic is sharp and logical, and we are not afraid of any threat. Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) did not hold back from warning and conveying his guiding message before the start of the war and even in the midst of the battle with the enemy."

The head of Iranian pilgrims pointed out: "A negotiation that is a deal with the enemy is reprehensible, because the enemy only thinks about its own interests. These days, the true face of the enemy has been revealed, and with the help and divine power, the warriors and spiritual children of the great leader of the revolution will put the enemies in their place and, as in the past, will prove the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

At the beginning of this conference, Hojjat al-Islam Rukn al-Dini, the cultural deputy of the Supreme Leader's delegation, discussed the goals of holding this meeting, and said: "Thank You for Attending the Ancient House" meeting was held with the aim of honoring the pilgrims who had the most attendance at the prayers in the Two Holy Mosques. Of course, this number was much higher, and we are serving these dear ones as much as possible."

He said: "In recent years, due to the Coronavirus situation, as well as the distance and heat, congregational prayers were held inside hotels in Mecca for disabled and elderly pilgrims, but pilgrims who are able to attend prayers in the two Holy Mosques fortunately participate in congregational prayers."

Hojjat al-Islam Rukn al-Dinni stated that holding this meeting was a proposal by the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, and he appreciated and thanked him for his special attention to fostering a culture of pilgrims' presence in congregational prayers at the two Holy Mosques.
