God commanded Abraham
To take Hagger, his gracious wife
Along with Ismail, their only son
To a lonely desert
There he left his noble wife
To fend for her little child
The desert was lonely, no soul was there
Except the Godly protection
For want of water, Ismail cried
The desperate mother ran up and down
To take Hagger, his gracious wife
Along with Ismail, their only son
To a lonely desert
There he left his noble wife
To fend for her little child
The desert was lonely, no soul was there
Except the Godly protection
For want of water, Ismail cried
The desperate mother ran up and down
Safa and Marwah, the famous hills
She prayed, "O Lord my son is thirsty
Your help is needed to save his life"
Her pleas were answered by Almighty God
And a well of 'Zam Zam broke forth instantly
This abandonment was the heavenly plan
To test Abraham's fidelity
God approved his sacrifice so greatly
That he made it one of the rites of Hajj
